Description

Welcome to our little group for the discussion of the Tartan 26 sailboat! The T26 was built by Tartan from 1971 to 1973 and is a Tom Norton design. Since only 73 were built, it is one of Tartan's lesser known boats.

This design was featured in a three part article by Ted Jones in Coastal Cruising (Jan, Feb, & Mar of '89). Mr. Norton had entered her in the 1968 International Amateur Boat Building Society design competition where she placed 9th, a ranking that was not indicative of the success the first hull, named Trilogy, would have on the race course (2-1-DNF-1 at Block Island Week).

"Trilogy may have been an excellent racing design, but she is a very good cruiser too.", was Ted Jones' assessment.

Re: Tartan 26 Hull #64
Congratulations! Very nice boat. I just came across her last night on Sailboatlistings. South Florida is a little far from Carolina to make viable though.
