TRANSPARENT ADOPTIVE PARENTS for TRANSPARENT ADOPTION PROGRAMS
In your request to join, you must give the moderator 1)your full name
2)the name of your adoption/orphanage program and 3)a statement attesting that you are in no way affiliated with any adoption or orphanage program. You are required to post this in an introduction to the group immediately upon approval or be deleted and need to re-apply.
This group is only for adoptive parents: prospective, present and past. No one who represents or is employed by an adoption agency or orphanage may join. It is intended for kind, straightforward communication and debate by parents on ethical adoption and orphanage program operations. This is not a place for rumor or gossip, but neither is it a place to be fearful of speaking out about facts, concerns and problems. No abusive language of any kind will be tolerated. All input to this list should further the cause of putting the children first.
The goals of this group are:
1. Transparency in every aspect of adoption and orphanage operations.
2. Improved care for children in orphan care facilities.
3. Mutual respect, improved communications and appreciation between adoptive parents and adoption facilitators, orphanage directors and government entities.
Parents cannot ask for transparency from adoption/orphanage program directors if we are not transparent ourselves as we seek for solutions to the problems we face. We hope that parents will bring positive attitudes and optimistic energy to this forum.
The intent of this list is not to be adversarial toward any agency, orphanage or organization. On the contrary, we hope that all adoption-related entities will benefit as we considerately and respectfully request and promote high standards of care, ethics and accountability. We urge the greatest respect for the office, experience and knowledge of adoption facilitators and orphanage directors whose programs are truly child-centered.
