Welcome to this forum, open to all "milongueros" (Argentine tango fanciers) and tango lovers living in north-central Alabama. The purposes of this group are to diffuse argentine tango news, support tango events, and promote communication among milongueros in our community. The only prerequisite for membership is that you consider yourself an argentine tango fancier. Come and join us! What's going on in Birmingham, AL and our region in JULY?

No classes on July 4th. MILONGA at Rita and Richard's on Sunday, July 5th from 3:00-6:30PM. Address: 1201 18th Ave South, Birmingham, AL 35205. Tel (205) 454-2378.

In BIRMINGHAM, we meet at the Homewood Senior Center (816 Oak Grove Road. Tel 332-6500) on Saturdays. Roswell leads a Stretch and Warm-up session from 2:40 PM to 3:00 PM. Chalo teaches tango fundamentals from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM. Sara and Roswell teach "Cool Moves" -intermediate to advanced level lessons- while Chalo guides a practice for beginners from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM. A group practice follows until 5:15PM.

All new to argentine tango are encouraged to join Chalo´s lessons and remain the following hour to practice fundamentals or try the more challenging steps of "Cool Moves". Please wear leather sole shoes or dancing sneakers.

In TUSCALOOSA, Rita and Richard are teaching tango fundamentals at the Leroy McAbee Center - Aerobics Room (3801 Loop Rd. Tuscaloosa, AL 35404) on Wednesdays from 7-8 pm. For more information contact (205) 454-2378.

The cost for single or combined classes plus practice each Saturday is 10$ for adults and 5$ for students; three single or combined classes for 25$. Please sign-in the attendance log and leave moneys in the attached envelope.
