This group is devoted to vintage machines like the Tandy 2000 (officially the TRS-80 Model 2000), and really anything else that fits into it's category. Looks and operates just like an IBM PC (though more often than not, considerably better), but do to enhancements to IBM's original design, particulary in the video hardware, very little if any IBM PC software would run. Hence the term "pseudo-compatible". Also include the NEC APC and APC III, DEC Rainbow 100, Mindset, CANON AS-100, Texas Instruments Professional Computer, and Portable Professional, Sanyo MBC-550/555/775 (portable), Zenith Z-100 and Z-120, Xerox 16/8, Victor 9000/ Sirius 1 (UK), and probably a number of others. Anything that ran off of an Intel 8088 / 8086 / 80186, and/or ran MS-DOS. You could probably include weird boxes like the Televideo Personal Mini PM/16t, Northstar Dimension (both early servers) , and a host of others that were manufactured overseas - namely the Research Machines NIMBUS...ANYONE GOT ONE!!!. Please contribute if you've owned/still own, or just have a hankering to here about these early room heaters/light dimmers. Discussions about hardware and low level programming (i.e. assembly language) having to do with the early Intel chips is also welcome.
