Texas A&M MSC Furnishings Auction
Furnishings such as benches, chairs, televisions, and a variety of miscellaneous equipment from the Memorial Student Center (MSC) will be made available to the public via a series of 24/7 online auctions, the first of which is scheduled to begin on Monday, June 29th and end on Thursday, July 9th. Lone Star Auctioneers, Inc. http://lonestarauctioneers.com/ will host the auctions, which can be accessed via the MSC Renovation project web site, http://msclivingtradition.tamu.edu/. Persons wishing to bid on an item must register prior to placing a bid. Registration is free, but processing takes 24 hours, so advance registration is recommended. MSC items available for auction will be listed under the Client Texas A&M University.
These items are being offered at auction
because beginning in August of this year the MSC will undergo extensive renovations. Proceeds from the auctions will go towards the renovation project, which will increase the amount of meeting space, upgrade and repair the building's infrastructure, and make the MSC fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. To accommodate construction, the MSC will close beginning August 15, 2009. The furnishings and other equipment being offered in these auctions will either be replaced or will not be needed when the renovated building reopens in the fall of 2012.
Items that will be available over the course of multiple auctions include televisions, benches, billiards tables and equipment, pianos, bowling balls and pins, hotel room furnishings, a wood buffet, a china hutch, and office furnishings and equipment. Terms and conditions for winning bids and information about how to make payment and pick up merchandise will be included on the Lone
Star Auctioneers web site.
A second auction is scheduled to be held beginning on Monday, July 27, 2009 and ending on Thursday, August 6th. Items that do not sell in the first auction will again be available, in addition to newly available items from the MSC. Information about more future auctions featuring MSC furnishings and other items will be distributed when details are confirmed.
