In the 48 years Vagabond was in my family, the three inch wooden blocks worked perfectly and never failed. Of course, they had to be varnished regularly.
Several years ago Duckworks online mag had an article about making rope stropped blocks for a small boat. Now that one was a bit too small for the Tahiti
I'll bet you can find used blocks around. Check online !   Check your local yacht harbor for swap meets etc. Craigslist/wanted is another ... From:
Guys; Thanks for the interest in this thread. I am not building a Tahiti but becoming the custodian of one. I will talk more about that later. My intent is to
