Owners interested in restoring or maintaining and improving their vessels are especially welcomed to share techniques and ideas that worked or words of encouragement. Please no foul language, disrespectful behavior or blitzing the board with an opinion. If you do you will be removed. Please note posting Spam will get you ban from the group.

In the 48 years Vagabond was in my family, the three inch wooden blocks worked perfectly and never failed.  Of course, they had to be varnished regularly.

Several years ago Duckworks online mag had an article about making rope stropped blocks for a small boat. Now that one was a bit too small for the Tahiti

I'll bet you can find used blocks around.  Check online !    Check your local yacht harbor for swap meets etc.  Craigslist/wanted is another ... From:
