Description

This is yahoogroup for Guinayanganin Residing abroad to provide information about our town's activities, locate townmates and classmates.

Town History:

The town derived its name from the word “Gayang”, the name by which indigenous tribes of “Aeta’s” call the poison extract from plants which they apply on their spears when they fight and defend themselves in times of war. Spanish friars who came to ask of the name of the town from settlers mistakenly interpreted it to describe their spears and they replied “Ginayangan”. As the Spanish friars understood it as the name of the town they spread to call it “Guinayangan”. The boundaries were established in 1832 under the leadership of Capt. Simeon Molines.
