Welcome to the group for people interested in East Coast Swing dancing events in the Houston - plus some - area. This group was started from folks that danced out of SSQQ Dance Studio (www.ssqq.com). We are inclusive and there is no criteria to join. We only ask that you be an active member by coming out to dance and by playing nice.

We all dance with each other and rarely do couples dance exclusively. We also try to balance out the dances by dancing with a partner who may have missed the last song. It is also appreciated for women to ask men to dance. Rarely is anyone ever turned down for a dance and never does a person's looks or dancing ability enter into accepting a dance. These are just common rules of dance courtesy.

We all do other dances as well (West Coast, Two Step, Polka, etc...) but this group is for those of us who want to get in some East Coast; this is not a Lindy Hop or West Coast Swing group. We are also not a complete list of all swing dance events in the Houston area. We try to keep our listings to things we will likely be at or may be of direct interest to others in our group. Our links page can direct you to more comprehensive forums.

Finally, we moderators work hard to keep this group going. Therefore, what we say goes. Take care... and have fun with us.
