This group began after the recent controversy around the Wake County School Board's plan to convert schools to mandatory Year Round. A large group of parents, former teachers, and other members of the community in Wake County had accepted the Board's plan and wanted to move forward.

The decision has been made and the plan is moving forward. However, there are still a lot of problems in our public school system that must be addressed. This recent controversial issue caused a lot of people to become engaged in the issue. All of us want the best education for our children. Now that the initial drama is over, we must continue to stay involved to advocate change. The goal of this group moving forward is to stay engaged in the hopes of effecting change.

A working group has defined some key areas of information that might beo f interest to people. In the Files, Links, and Database section of this site you will see various categories and information. 1. Give your title a descriptive category (e.g. 'School Capacity_Class
Size' or 'Year Round School Data')
2. If at all possible try to add content to an existing topic
3. Feel free to add new topics when necessary
4. No topics with title like 'New Information' or 'Guess what'
