Superhero fiction is one of the fastest growing subgenres in publishing today.
This site is all about superheroes in the written word. If it's about the words and not the pictures, then we will discuss it here. Whether it be the classic characters of the Marvel and DC novels over the decades, the old Challengers of the Unknown, or the later generations with the Wild Cards anthologies, Stan Lee's Riftworld, F.R.E.E. Lancers, Leonard Nimoy's Primortals, the Gen13 novels, or the recent explosion of new superhero adventures in cyberspace and print with Superherofiction.com, Nifty Comics novels, ihero.net's Cyber Age Adventures, Metaclysm, the “pearl” heroes of Beauvoir, Metahuman Press, or A Thousand Faces, this is the place to discuss, examine, and share your own superhero fiction.
We welcome everyone, writer and reader alike. We hope you will contribute, create, debate, and critique these works of superhero fiction.
** Before you ask, the image for the group is excerpted from a cover of one issue in a comic book series I wrote in the 1980s called Silver Storm. The art is by Steven Butler, one of the best artists alive (Badger, X-Men, Spider-Man, etc. fame). I am using it for the setting of the superhero mood, granted it is an image. But I am using it because I can give myself permission to use it. Now enjoy. -- Thomas Fortenberry
