This study and discussion group focuses on the teachings of the most venerable Nichidatsu Fujii (1885-1985), the spiritual teacher and Buddhist Monk who went to India in the 1930's to begin the revival of Buddhism there, according to the prophecies and teachings of the Lotus Sutra and Japan's Great Saint Nichiren, by propagating the practice of beating the Dharma drum and chanting the universal prayer Na Mu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo which was taken up by Mahatma Gandhi empowering the non-violent spiritual-political revolution by awakening the human mind to the latent human awareness of the Great Law, The One Law by which God and nature operate in the world. The name Nichidatsu in English means the "reach of the sun" and during his long life he was affectionately known to his students, fans, and followers by the title name conferred on him by Gandhi, "Guruji" or revered teacher. Fujii Gurujii, as he was known in the West, sent his disciples to American in the 1970's who have since participated in many peacewalks continuing his practice of walking while drumming and chanting to offer the medicine of this prayer to bring the mind of humanity into harmony with the Great Law for the cause of global peace by realizing the inherent Pure Land in the minds of the people for its manifestation on Earth. His teachings are not well known in the West and comparatively few have been translated into English. English translations here of his speeches and messages are for review by the general public and for study and discussion to inspire others to consider and apply his insights more deeply. Guruji began a modern revival of the practice of building the Peace Pagoda's (Stupas) which is continued by his disciples and this list has been formed as an offering to honor the November 3, 2001, dedication of the Lumbini Stupa in Lumbini, Nepal, the birthplace of the human being who became known as Shakyamuni Buddha.
