SULYP is an auxiliary of the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS). Our purpose is to support the objectives of the ULMS, promote economic empowerment, civic engagement and political involvement through collaboration and community service activities. We are also committed to providing professional development and networking opportunities for young professionals in and around Seattle, WA.

The sulyp_friends yahoogroup/listserv exists to keep young professionals (who may not yet be members of SULYP) abreast of our activities. It also allows those who subscribe to communicate information that might assist others with personal or professional development, networking opportunities or to announce events that might be helpful to other professionals.

To meet the needs of our members and friends, and maintain this listserv as an effective source of helpful information and special events, we ask all to comply with the following rules:

1. The same message should NOT be sent more than once within a 15-day period (or more than two times during the same month).

2. Listserv members should NOT send emails supporting or degrading any political candidate or party (as SULYP is nonpartisan).

3. The listserv may NOT be used to solicit individuals.

4. The listserv may NOT be used to send general greetings, jokes, inappropriate photos, inspirational quotes, vulgar language or etc. that may be deemed "junk mail" or disrespectful.

5. Invitations to events/activities that directly conflict with SULYP planned/communicated events are NOT allowed.

**Abusing/misusing these rules will result in restricted access or removal from the yahoogroup. SULYP reserves the right to update these rules at any time.
