The Chishti Web Site
Murshid's primary initiatic lineage is derived through the Chishtiyya, a Sufi order that began in what is now Afghanistan in the town of Chisht. This site opens with a photo of exquisite atmosphere showing the dargah of Khwaja Mo’inuddin Hasan Chishti, who brought the teachings to India. There is a wealth of information here about the Chishtiyya, Sufi teachings and symbology, photos of the dargahs and villages of the Chishti saints in India, Chishti and Sufi poetry, and a beautiful piece on the Chishti stages of love. If you are interested in discovering more about the tradition from which the Inayati branch of the Order grew, please visit this site. http://www.Chishti.ru |

The Dance of the Soul
The foreword of this book reads: "Gayan, Vadan, Nirtan can be said to represent the essence of Hazrat 'Inayat Khan's Sufi Message. A musician as well as a mystic, he had at times a deep joy in the beauty of sound, and his thought naturally fell into rhythmic expressions....in reading these works, we should bear in mind that, throughout, the philosophical or mystical idea is of the first importance, and that there is a play upon the word 'music'...to denote not only the rhythmic form, but also that Harmony of Divine thought of which such teachings are notes, faintly heard by the soul amid the tumult of earth's many voices...'When the soul is attuned to God, every action becomes music.' The Dances of Universal Peace
These simple, meditative, joyous, multi-cultural circle dances use sacred phrases, chants, music, and movements from the many traditions of the earth to touch the spiritual essence within ourselves and others. Based on the work begun in the late 60's by Murshid Samuel L. Lewis, they promote peace and integration within individuals and groups worldwide. There are no performers and no audience -- new arrivals and old hands form the circle together. http://www.dancesofuniversalpeace.org/na/ |

The Esoteric School
One of the Five Concentrations or Activities created by Pir-o-Murshid, this is the primary vehicle for personal transformation for initiates of the Sufi Order International. Initiates are offered ways in which to open themselves so as to facilitate the emergence of qualities lying dormant beneath the layers of personality and habitual thinking. The goal is to identify experientially a source of inner guidance to the realization and fulfillment of his or her unique purpose in life. http://www.sufiorder.org/activities.html |

The Kinship Activity
One of the Five Concentrations created by Pir-o-Murshid, the Kinship activity is in some ways the hardest to describe, while at the same time it is the most all pervading. Pir Zia describes it as "finding our place within the great single being, realizing our interdependence....To truly unite humanity within a single consciousness we must participate in the awakening of humanity to reality." In many ways, Kinship is a kind of spiritual activism, the living proof of the spiritual development of a human being. http://www.sufiorder.org/activities.html |

The Sufi Healing Order
One of the Five Concentrations created by Pir-o-Murshid, he defined its purpose as "to awaken humanity to a greater realization of the Divine Spirit to heal." Zira'at
This is the last of the Five Concentrations and was inaugurated by Pir-o-Murshid in 1926. It uses the symbols and dynamic processes of agriculture as a way of describing the inner life and, as such, finding a bridge between the spiritual and material worlds. In describing the Farm, it is said that its length is as long as time, its breadth as broad as space, and the achievement of the Farmer is a successful harvest. http://www.ziraat.org/ |
