This is a photo of the front door of 454 West 20th Street. It was at this location that it is said Jack Kerouac, in 1951, wrote "On the Road." I took the photo on a day in November of 2009, when the sun was beginning to set over the Hudson River. As I stood in front of the door where Jack must have passed so many times, I felt his strong spirit. I hope this photo helps everybody feel closer, in some small scale way, to Jack Kerouac.
