I have made a successful harness for the 2.7 and the 1.8 turbo subaru
motors. Im using them in a porsche 914.
Eric
If anyone needs a 1.8 liter engine w/ harness, efi computer, turbo,
porsche 914 exhaust, porsche 914 engine mount, custom intercooler,
blow off valve... let me know, selling all for $500. Parts are in
the CA Bay Area
Can I put a EA82t Liberty/Vortex turbo engine straight into a Brumby?
What needs to be done? Can the 5 speed box out of the 4wd wagon
replace my 4 speed? Will it bolt up to the EA82t or do I need to get
a Leone or Vortex box? Thanks.
Type KEP.com into your browser. They make adaptors and sell harnesses and wiring diagrams for Subaru/VW conversions - I have no idea what a Vortex is but thats mt two cents
I have recently purchased a Subaru Vortex front cut import from
Japan. Don't laugh, but i'm working on putting it in my 83 Ski Wagon.
If anyone knows where I can get a workshop manual (particularly
wiring) or has done anything similar please contact me. There's quite
a bit of info I'm after and maybe some I can share with you. I would
love to hear from anyone with anything to offer.

I have a porsche 914 with the 1.8 xt turbo engine. Im starting over
with a new 914 project and I need help picking a motor & tranny.
Im looking for at least a 160 horse 4 cylinder, and I need a tranny
that can be converted to front wheel drive only, and preferably cable
shifted. Im looking to use something from a 93 and up subaru legacy
or impreza, my biggest compatablity issue is the transmission. Im
looking to spend around 1500-2000 for engine and tranny.
Thanks for any advice you have to offer... if anyone is interested in
the conversion I have done please check out my site.

I have recently bought a subaru vortex and love its crazy retro
futuristic interior, unfortunately I have found quite a lot of rust
above the left rear blinker so I need to remove the left rear lights
so I can remove the rust completely and rebuild the area - the
problem is I don't know how to remove the rear lights easily and I am
scared of using too much force and breaking things. If anyone has
some good advice I would REALLY appreciate it!
I have installed my multispeed Blitz except for the speed sensor
wire. It is what the orange wire from the harness connects to. Any
one happen to know what color the speed sensor wire is on the ECU. I
plan to call the dealer soon but if anyone happens to know, it would
help. Oh yeah the wiring harness is a big help if anyone is thinking
of installing one themselves.
Hi, i have a Subaru Vortex 1989, all stock, running 6 pounds boost and
want to increase it to 11, i have been told you can tune your waste
gate to do this, but am unsure. any help
I am purchasing an EJ20 motor: engine number: EJ20HDXCJE-1C 636594 TP10 and have no idea what to do about wiring the ECU. It is in a completely non-electronic vehicle, so I am starting from scratch.
I am looking for an accurate wiring diagram, including colors, etc. I am also looking for any tips from anyone with experience.

HELP! I recently purchased a '74 Bug w/ a 96 Legacy engine (2.2L, I
believe). Kennedy adapter already mounted, everything is good,
except for one thing... The wiring isn't complete. I have the
manuals & schematics showing how things shouldbe set up, but I would
like to use the factory connectors that came form Subaru. Right now,
the wires are just pushed onto the computer pins, and I'm worried
that won't last very long. If anyone has or knows where I could get
either a full or partial wiring harness for this setup, please let me
know. It's one major thing keeping the car from running (and being
driven all over the place!)
Thanks,

Hi Guys,
I run an engine importer bussiness, and recieved 3 EJ20-T's in the
last shipment. One is a manual trans, and has ecu, mafs, and harness
is cut but all ends and plugs are there. The other 2 are automatics,
and don't include ecu or mafs. I am selling these, as well as looking
for a donor chassis impreza 2 door, reasonable please. E-mail
rx7@..., check out my auction on ebay. I believe these are legacy
engines, but I am still trying to find the numbers.

Hi all :)
I was wondering iff anyone could give me some advise in regards to a
problem I have with my 82 Subaru 4x4 SW.....
My wagon overheated last week and the compression was real bad so I
pulled over and let it cool down (there was steam comming from my
carby and engine also), once it had I filled up the radiator and went
on my way.......... however about 5 to 10 minutes down the road my
compression started getting real bad, until eventually the car slowly
came to a halt... anyway, I checked the dip-stick and noticed it was
mud brown... obviously water has entered into there, I am told it may
be a craked head - Gasket. Does this sound like it to you ?
I cannot afford to get someone to look at it so I want to tackle it
for myself, I have pulled out a gear box ect in the past but have
little experience as to the insides of an engine...
Can anyone please give me some advise as to what I should pull apart
and examine... how do I tell iff its a gasket or the head or both?
Any advise would be most welcome,
Thank you

Hello
I just replaced the AWD auto tranny on my '93 legacy with one from
a '90 Legacy. I replaced the rear diff as well at the same time since
the gearing between these model years is different. When I start the
engine the POWER light on the dash flashes a number of times before
extinguishing. The owners manual states this indicates a likely
problem with the control unit and recommends getting it serviced
immediately. I subsequently switched the control unit for the tranny
with the one from the '91 however the power light still flashes.
Can anyone tell me what the flashing light means and whether it is
possible to decipher the problem causing the flashing? Could damage
have been done by initially using the control unit from the '93 with
the '90 tranny? The control units have large two letter designations
on them which are different from one another. As I recall the 93
control unit has a "SE" designation and the '90 an "EE" designation.
Could the wiring between the control unit and the tranny be different
between the '90 and '93?
I have a short warranty from the yard I purchased the tranny from so
I ned to resolve this ASAP!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Gary
Hi All.
Can anyone please post me the factory stats for the EJ20 Turbo, and a
EA81 / 82 turbo engine.
If so, could it please include BHP, Torque, Fuel consumption, overall
dimentions and any thing else you have.
Many thanks
James
i have a subaru legacy gt im wanting to change the exhaust to 2.5"
from the 2 cat back, also put in a high flow turbo muffer will this
result in a lot of problems, ie: turbo over spining? or will the turbo
be fine?, any info will be of help
thanks =)
Hello Subaru fans!
If you are subaru horsepower savvy I have a question
for you (and sorry if this is not appropriate for this
group)
I am in the states and have a '93 legacy touring
wagon. its a 2.2 turbo making about 165 hp. It is an
automatic transmission.
I know its an old car but I am very fond of it and
decided to beef it up a little.
I have boosted turbo pressure to about 14 lbs and have
installed an intercooler.. made somewhere down under.
It have about 200 hp now and I am afraid I'll fry the
transmission.
Anyone know how to beef up the 93 automatic? I know I
can put a cooler on it but other than that... are
there any kits or ideas? I propose to add another 40
hp with other goodies but dont want to move that way
until I am sure about the tranny.
Any input appreciated.
Ron Smith

My turn signals and four-way flashers have stopped working on my 93
Impreza. Does anyone know of an alternative to the $500 bill my
dealer wants to charge me? Thanks in advance.

i have been looking for a Subaru RX for a very long time. but alas,
i have no luck. if anybody could give me any information on where to

I'm looking to purchase and install an air intake system for my 1999
Legacy L 2.2. Any thoughts on the systems offered by JC Sports at
www.jcsports.net or any other air intake systems, for that matter?
Thanks.
Well, I went over to the shop where we're doing this installation into the
sand rail and here's what we have found of interest. The smaller of the two
subaru dealers has really shown an interest in this project since I took them
some pictures of the installation.Having access to their service manuals and
being able to look at an engine in a vehicle has been especially helpful. The
blower setup we are using puts the blower on top of the engine, however it is
mounted about 8" off center and about level with the original throttle body.
It's pretty compact and I know Rimmer makes a setup to put the blower on the
side of the engine. You can get more info at Rimmer Engineering. We cut out some
nice header flanges and are now searching for a GOOD header builder in the NV,
AZ, CA area that can build some nice headers for the car. I'm making some
flanges for the fuel rails to use AN fittings, probably not necessary but it
should look much better than the "crunch bend" steel lines. I'm currently
gutting the stock harness out of a '98 Outback and that's a thrill. Even (or
especially) the factory manuals have mistakes in them. Oh well, just a good
challenge. I have taken some digital photos of the engine/blower setup so if
anyone is interested let me know. That's about all the progress we've made but
are now moving along a little better. Does anybody know a good E-mail address
for Don Parham at RFI?
I will try to gather as much info as I can on my friend Greg's EA-81
installation for you all---I know we made the intake and He used an aftermarket
injection and ignition made up from MSD parts. Also built his own PSRU including
the AutoCad drawings for the pulleys and all for the unit---It is very nice and
has worked well. He is at present over here once a week or so to use the lathe
or mill to fab the parts for the turbo setup that he is presently installing on
that engine. It is in a modified Avid Flyer (stretched 18"), the reason for the
turbo is he felt the engine wasn't operating in the RPM range he wanted. If
anyone is interested I will get the reduction ratio/ prop info from Greg and
pass it along. More as we go----Bill Aymar

Hey, my name is Bill Aymar, I'm presently working on a EA-81 with a homemade
turbo setup in an Avid Flyer and a EJ-25 with a supercharger in a sand rail,
hope the blower motor development will help some in the soob/aircraft world find
some new horsepower sources.I am presently trying to sort out the gutting of the
wire loom for the EJ-25, which is a '98 engine so I have all the headaches of
the speed sensor and the fuel pressure/temp/tank pressure stuff to figure out
besides the usual stuff. Cheers!
