Sorry but this new group is not a teacher training class. It is a study group
for beginners and intermediates.

Thank you Zohre, Ranjithamm and Wong for your interest. I have replied to your
queries privately as well as others sent to vanessa.87036@... as
requested. Faramarz, if interested in joining the class, will also need to
submit a longer writing sample.

The proposed class, to be structured as a writing group, will be writing
intensive class and will not address speaking skills. Ideally, you should have
specific writing goals, either academic or professional, e.g. work related.

Participants will write substantial posts for class discussion that analyze and
critique essays and writing samples, regularly write and revise essays.

Extensive writing, not reading about it, studying rules, chatting or watching
videos, is the only way to improve your writing. I expect everyone in the class
to write every day. Enrollment is limited because responding to student writing
personally is labor intensive and time consuming.

To apply for the class, write an essay length application letter and email it to
me at vanessa.87036@.... Please do not post your writing samples here.

(paragraph #1) Introduce yourself: include a brief biography and a concise
statement of why you want to take this class that you will develop more fully
later in your essay letter.

(paragraph #2) Describe your English learning and writing background.

(paragraph #3) Evaluate your writing strengths and weaknesses.

(paragraph #4)  Finally, state your writing goals. Be specific. Explain why you
want to improve your writing

Please use transitions words or sentences to move smoothly between paragraphs.
Each paragraph should be at least 4-5 sentences. Take care to use the same level
of formal language in your reply as you would in a university writing assignment
employment application cover letter.

Correct, appropriate writing will make the best impression. Proofread and edit
for correct use before submitting. Your application letter/essay should be 250
words or longer.
