This group was started as a means to try and unite people working to end routine infant male circumcision with those working to end female genital mutilation, and those seeking to end s e x reassignment surgery on intersex children. These are three groups of people who generally work separate from each other, and often, don't want to be associated with each other. This is unfortunate. We are all dealing with three sides to the same issue, namely: the forced cutting of a child's genitals to conform to a particular society's concepts of aesthetics and normality.

Please use this listserv to exchange ideas on what we can do as students to help end all genital mutilations worldwide, and to post current news items regarding genital mutilation/integrity issues.

Group membership is moderated and is for STUDENTS ONLY. If you would like to join this group, please tell me what school you are affiliated with, as well as why you are interested in joining. This isn't a test though, regardless of your reason, if you are a student, you will be added to the list. It's just to get a better idea of people's interests.
