Expect to have more fun than you thought was possible. 
if you consume adult beverages, expect that you will not be able to drive aftewards.
expect to spend all your money, even though there are lots of bargains to be had at the stopping points, $5 spent many times adds up. 
 
i give out trinkets and candies.  i dont wrap them.
some folks re-gift interesting/odd things.  they usually do wrap them.  i think they are more fun than my stuff.

Well hello we met at Interfuse and Burning Down the River. This is Cherry. So Santas of all types are welcome. Here are some of the ideas I saw last year that I loved....Homeless Santa, Army Santas, Jose Santa, then there were other great costumes... Hanukah Harries for our jewish friends, an Easter Bunny, Union Leader Elf, Raindeer, Jackie Frost, and one that I did not get till I caught up on the series... the new Dr Who. OMG that was funny in July when I got that joke:)
 
And as for me I was a Gothic Lolita Santa... Only changing costume slightly for this year:) Can't wait even tho I will be DEAD BROKE and really not able to drink unless others are buying, it will still be a blast, especially with my Hanukah Harry.
 
Gifts... trinkets... some gave blinky things, some gave shot glasses on necklaces. Some focused on gifts for passers by some on gifts for the Santas. Gifting is not required but it is nice. I will have some hot hands for people if they need them.

Good to see new faces, I will be returning for my 3rd year here in stl and my 5th year over all.
 
The last two years I was a santa pimp with a bar belt, this year I have a suprise.  But the bar belt will still be along for the ride, so I will have a drink for you as well.

perhaps we should think of a strategy for drinkers at bars, like buy santa a drink to get your picture taken with him/her or dare santa to do a body shot. like a bachelorette party

All right Santa's!!! it's Santarchy time, StLouis style.  The schedule is quite
a bit different this year, and I think quite a bit more Super-Awesome.  A lot
more downtown, and a little more walking.  A returning favorite, the Cabin Inn
the City at the City Museum, and a new groovy photo opportunity, the Citygarden.

Also, I want people out there to consider forming their own group marches that
could intersect or branch with the main Santa mob.  For instance, I believe
there is a group planning to start in Maplewood then hook up with the Main
gathering at Union Station skipping the scheduled U-City Loop.  I think that is
fantastic.

So get out your Red & White, and your sexy/comfy shoes and get ready to
Santarchy!!!

its quite possible to have a great time with limited funds. 
santa's & bar patrons are often quite generous.
beverages of your own can be drank between bars (its rude/illegal to drink your own inside an establishment that has a liquor license).  
many places treat us with free food, but just in case -bring snacks.   
mostly, just try to pace your spending to match your budget.
there are even some sober santa's that have a great time - some of them werent even preggers.
 
i just mention the $$ so folks can plan ahead and not be concerned with finding an ATM that doesnt charge for withdrawals.
some places will take credit/debit cards but you dont want to waste that kind of time in the bar.

i am willing to plan a maplewood start, with a stop at the Galleria at 2pm for Tuba Christmas, and then join the other Santa's on Locust street.  i need at least 4 people committed to do this alternate leg.

A returning favorite, the Cabin Inn the City at the City Museum, and a new groovy photo opportunity, the Citygarden.

Also, I want people out there to consider forming their own group marches that could intersect or branch with the main Santa mob. For instance, I believe there is a group planning to start in Maplewood then hook up with the Main gathering at Union Station skipping the scheduled U-City Loop. I think that is fantastic.

Gifts... trinkets... some gave blinky things, some gave shot glasses on necklaces. Some focused on gifts for passers by some on gifts for the Santas. Gifting is not required but it is nice. I will have some hot hands for people if they need them.

no Taquillia as I am VERY allergic to agave it turns out... I always wondered why Margarittas got me sick. Gin, Rum, Vodka or Bourbon are all good things to have for the CHEEP Hooch:) I personally like Rum the best but what ever is clever is my motto:)

Santarchy is the most I go to bars all year. This year I ave been out 10 times to 4 bars:) why go to bars when there are friends with a hot tub and they don't smoke:) So my question is how safe is this year for those of us with allergies? And alternate legs for those of us with asthma can be arranged. Did someone say something about the Grove? And I saw something about the Tubba thing... what was the idea on that leg again?
 
Also I know a Santa who would love to set up breakfast at Schneidhorst as it is sooo damn gingerbread there:)
