It was late, the bars were all letting out so every cab company (that would actually pick up the phone) said it'd be another hour or two before someone could get there. It was, in fact, lame.
Fortunately, they lived literally a few blocks away from where we were going, so it all worked out well.
I might have been a bit foggy, so names are escaping me, but you guys were cool and live really close to us, so it seems you'd be fun people to hang out with sometime. :)

Looking for the contact info for the two santa's we gave a ride home
to who were stranded because no cab company wanted to pick you up.

Skipping out on your taxi driver without paying the fare is very un-Santa like. It also comes back on the person who was kind enough to call your drunk butt a cab in the first place.

Two "presents" for the Santarchists:
Next Sunday, December 20th, the local Steampunk meet-up group is doing Christmas
Caroling in our Steampunk Finery. We're meeting up at Cicero's on the loop.
(Sound familiar?) We're gathering at 6:30 and then we're going to walk the loop
singing carols and looking awesome. Everyone is invited! Santa Suits count as
costuming, in my opinion.
Today, a favorite webcomic of mine posted something that made me think of all of

the day pass has increased this year, unless you are taking the metro to delmar loop and then doing all 3 of the metro/bus runs, the pass will cost you more than individual tickets.
to ensure we quickly get everyone's metro tickets and that you dont overpay on buses, you may want to put your transit money in a special place.
i suggest 6 ones, and 4 quarters.
delmar-union station via metrolink: $2.25
downton-soulard via metrolink & bus: $2.75 (2 hour pass)
soulard-grand via bus: $2.00 (this is late night, and some folks may opt for cabs or sober drivers)

unfortunately it is too late for me to arrange the free bus I had kinda lined up. The number of people would have made it close to a sure thing.... maybe next year. I have solidified plans with others that involve going to the wash ave leg, so no grove for me.

Well, last year's Jackie Frost won't be joining us in the flesh, but she will be

WEATHER FORECAST for St. Louis tomorrow:
For Santarchy, we're going to start in the High 30s, then hit the day's highest
temperature at about 1pm: 40 degrees.
After 3 we start to see temperatures drop steadily until 8pm when the chance of
rain begins.
Well. Precipitation, anyway.
The good news is that even though it will get into the 20s tonight, it won't
drop below 30 tomorrow night. Er. Probably.
So Santas: Dress warmly and you might want to waterproof those
boots/hats/coats/cloaks.
TIGHTS TIP:
For any elves or santas wearing tights, may I recommend that you wear at least
two pairs? This way your legs stay warmer. It's an old marching band trick that
I learned from the Flag Corps. Two to three layers of tights and your legs stay
warm and look fantastic!

It looks like there is not enough committed interest in a tower grove leg to secure the bus that we had been looking into, so, the grove leg is being scrapped. Maybe next year we can try to incorporate this part of town again, especially since we now know about other transportaion options specific to the area.....
I'd pretty much be down for that, Murdoch. my gal is going to meet up with us later at like 7 anyway and she'll be just up the road until then.. And the downtown leg is the one I'm not familiar any of the bars.. Anyway, if it comes down to one person making or breaking the decision, you can count me in.
a grove leg would start approx 6:30 or so. We would leave either right before or right after flamingo bowl, and end by rejoing the group at 9:30 at nadines.
The reason I ask is I'm still trying to figure out the logistics of getting to the starting point.. the ending point is just up the road form my house so getting to wherever I start sans car would be helpful.. and the grove is closer to me..
There is an outside chance that there will be an opportunity for a grove leg that will include a bus to atomic from downtown and then from the grove to soulard. In order to figure it out, I need to know how many people are interested in this possible leg. It is by no
means a done deal, but if there is enough interest it may happen.
