[..]

tr'Vreenak gave some direction. "Erei'Arrain. In this excorcise we are defending the ship from an attemped take over by forces who were able to slip some personel on board.  You represent a suprised crewman who stumbled upon the intruders, yet sense you are new to our crew, the same situation will apply in this excercise."

The Science Officer just nodded. It made more sense for him to play the opponent, or quite possibly the victim, when he did not have any equipment to join a real drill. He ran forward, in a half-circle, first away from the group, a few hundred meters forward, then back left again, trying to come back at them at the right hand flank. He wondered about the sense of this, since there was no cover and he was clearly visible.

tr'Vreenak initiated the excecise and the security.  Despite his unexpected or maybe because of it, the 'enemy' was unable to hit him with their shots.

This time, Aehulon did not need any order. When he saw the slight right movement of the team, and the weapons pointed sidewards, he just fell to the ground. At least he had learned how to do that without hurting himself. But without any cover, this just gave him another second. He knew he would not be quick enough, nonetheless he jumped forward, ran a few steps, to drop down again. Theoretically, this should work, but only against enemies who were not proficient with their weapons.

Well, usually being shot at would mean a few minutes of rest, but appearently this rule was not active in that room. Aehulon felt exhausted already, but he stood up and accepted Hatham's new orders. Well, the hall was huge, true enough, but no matter how far he would run, if he was supposed to attack again, they would spot him, for sure. So, since there was no cover, the only bonus he had was surprise. tr'Gamirh jumped to the right, but immediately turned around to charge at tr'Vreenak.

tr'Vreenak just stood there.  Actually he is doing rather well. Security is the job of all crew, just that we have no excuses.

The science officer dropped again when he heard the "I have him" from one of the officers. Of course, Aehulon had not been fast enough, and tr'Vreenak had not even looked surprised. He rose again, and nodded to the team-leader.

tr'Vreenak held up his hand and then made a fist. The training squad just stopped. "That was an acceptable performance for a non security member. Yet you forgot something, ships security shot at you because they didn't know you. You never attempted to ID yourself."

The Arrain was right, Aehulon had not even thought of this. "Yes," he answered, trying to speak with short words so that it wouldn't show he was out of breath. "But which ID is quick enough to work in a firefight? If I tell name, rank and position, that just takes too much time. So how does the ID work?"

<t'Vreenak>

"Ie, I will remember that." The Science officer was ready for the second try. This time tr'Gamirh ran to the wall of the huge training centre, jogging along on the side of the large room. Maybe, if he made a full round, the officers would have forgotten about him? At least that would give them enough time to change their formation.

<t'Vreenak>

Before Aehulon collided with tr'Jomar, who was standing at the door and watching, he turned and jogged back to the group of security people. This time he came from the back, but the first security man had already spotted him. Of course, one of them always watched the back. "S'Task crewman!" He shouted, while he dived to he side, more uncomfortable than he had intended.

<t'Vreenak>

This time, the Science Officer lay still, but just long enough to give security time to react to his statement. "Hundredseventeen, Rho, Sigma, Trecentesimus." Still, in the few seconds he needed to state his Grand Fleet ID, everyone could have shot him. Since now one did, he got up, and, keeping his head low, ran closer to the security group again.

<t'Vreenak>

<tr Jomar, still watching from somewhere?>
