Coputer glitges stopped me from any earlier response. I will get a list together

Real easy is hairspay, getting it to be consistant is another issue. Propane is
about the best as you could use a metering device to meter the correct amount to
get good combustion. Still a hassle, which is why I went to air and never looked
back. If you guys want to see what I've been up to here (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PdFXivZVWFM ) is a link to a youtube video of an
air rifle I built last November with the intent of taking a deer with it during
season, never got a shot at one. Use air, combustion guns are what got alot of
people into this "sport" but when you learn how predicable air is, you won't
even fool around with combustion. On another note, combustion guns are alot
easier to build, and cheaper :)

Dan, where is the PGI convention this year? I went years ago, great time, IIRC
is was in Fargo ND when I went, Good luck in the competition, would love to see
a rocket lift the big ball shells you build.

I see that air might be an easier build so I figure the first one has to be air

I am involved in the PGI and we have competition at the convention in Aug.
So, I am practicing and developing.  The largest shells I have seen in the
rocket competition is 6".  I use a little BP but mostly whistle fuel.  No
sugar for fireworks.  It has no real visible flame and needs high(er)
pressure to work well.  We are building motors in paper tubes, so pressure
limits are low.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton,
Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton. At the battle of Yorktown,
Thomas
Nelson Jr, noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the
Nelson
home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to
open
fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his
wife,
and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside as she was dying. Their 13
children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to
waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to
find his wife dead and his children vanished. A few weeks later he died from
exhaustion and a broken heart.

Norris and Livingston suffered similar fates. Such were the stories and
sacrifices of the American Revolution. These were not wild-eyed, rabble-
rousing ruffians. They were soft-spoken men of means and education.

They had security, but they valued liberty more. Standing tall, straight,

you guys are both right, same air rifle,i believe a girondi (might be spelled
wrong). 10 shots from a resovoir fill, breach loading, all this in the time of
muzzleloading black powder, no wonder Napoleon hanged on the spot anyone in
possesson of one. Jack, i just finished putting together an ar, ben meaning to
do it for years, dpms lower and upper Noveske matched barrel and bolt, vltor
modstock and leupold mark 4 mrt 1.5-5, best group so far with handloads is three
shots into .24" at a hundred. its an awesome rig.

I recall my nephew doing a paper on some air rifles that the Spanish used
against Napoleon's troops.  Only hear say data but what I recall was a
pressure chamber in the stock.  They would air them up at night when the air
was cool.  During the day, if it got hot and you did not fire it, you could
have the thing explode on you.  My nephew reported that snipers would use
them and give the French so much grief that if you were captured with one,
they would kill you as they saw the smokeless rifle as being not fair or
something.

same. i just finished converting a qb78 air rifle into a 9mm airgun, shoots
.350 round balls at about 500fps filled to 1500 psi, the .50 will be pumped
to around 3600 psi. As far as the group goes, like Dan said a few of us old
timers still watch and there is a wealth of knowledge here, so if there is
any questions don't be afraid to ask just because there isn't alot of
traffic. Hey Jack, last time to the rifle range there wernt joggers, just a
couple of deer that didn't mind the gun shots, my daughter had to stop
shooting just because one wandered in front of her, and people think that
shooting scares deer during hunting season.

I've become taken with Stoner System rifles (ARs)...They're fascinating, the
Lego Block of rifles, real mix and match. Seems like no matter what you want to
do, some one out there makes the part/parts you need to do it.

Still doing fireworks, Dan? last fourth came and went and i never lit a thing,
funny how interests change. I've been in the process of building a large bore
(.50) air rifle, a little different than spudguns but alot the same. i just

I think interest has faded.  I function as one of the moderators of the
group.  We have had several people join in the past year or so, but almost
no one ever posts anything.  I have been focused on other interests, but I
am sure others out there are still doing spudgun stuff.   I know several of
us old timers are still monitoring the messages.
