Nose Bleed Seats comes to television...
The Nose Bleed Seats hosted by Chris Lee, which began in summer 2007
as a video webcast on Google now comes to Springfield Comcast Cable
on Access 4 on Thursdays at 5:30am, 1:30pm and 10:30pm starting May
15th. NBS is a weekly program that features interviews with various
people involved in the local professional wrestling scene in central
Illinois and is shot on location.
While the program has been edited down to fit the 30 minute timeslot,
you can view the full-length interviews and prior episodes on the NBS
page at http://myspace.com/thenosebleedseats or go to Google Video
and search on "Nose Bleed Seats".
The debut episode of NBS on Access 4 features Chris Lee's recent trip
to Granite City to tour former UFC Welterweight champion Matt Hughes'
new H.I.T. Squad or Hughes Intensive Training Mixed Martial Arts
facility with interviews with several folks involved with the gym and
MMA.
Those interested in appearing on the program can contact Chris Lee on
the NBS Myspace page, or the show's video editor and occassional
guest host Crimefighter at http://myspace.com/rap_sheet.

I saw the link on today's post for gas prices by zip code via
mapquest. It was a little deceiving, as it listed stations that are
no longer in existence or have changed names. I think they pull
their information from other sites, and the information is not up to
date.
If you want current, up to date gas prices, go to the Gas Buddy Site
at http://www.illinoisgasprices.com/ and choose Springfield. Once
you get there, you might want to bookmark the site.
There are many of us that report gas prices on a daily basis, and you
can look at prices that have been updated within hours. I'd
encourage you to join us, as we have noticed trends (gas often rises
on Tuesdays and gas prices tend to be lower on the north side of
Springfield).
Also, there is a place to post messages. We have noted some things
such as stations that sell regular gas without ethanol, new station
names, text messages for increasing prices, etc.
I live in J'ville as well and sorry to say Desi the only options we

The Comcast ON DEMAND feature is now on channel 1.
Those of you with digital cable tv might want to check out the new
options on channel 1. From what I can tell, more programming will be
available there as time goes on. Keep checking it.
I'd love to see some ZDTV/TechTV/Leo Laporte/ How to use technology

This is why we have Dish Network, we've always had problems with the local cable company. ALWAYS!!!

which they had already cashed several days ago. They were trying to tell us that we were 2 months past due and owed $288 when in fact our current balance is $0 now that those 2 payments have been made. We didn't even owe half of that until the 20th.
The online system isn't much better. It tells you that no billing history is available and they don't know your current balance so you need to refer to your paper bill. Calling their customer service back at the local number, 217-788-5656 can confirm your current balance and that you are not subject to disconnection.
The rep I spoke to said that "these calls just started to customers the past couple of days and you should just disregard them." Nobody seems to know why this is happening or how to stop them since a number of customers apparently are on the list to be called.
Yet another in a long line of distractions and confusion caused by this whole mess. Unfortunately if you
make a double payment like we did, the only option is to put a stop payment on it at your local bank, which usually costs $25-$30. Comcast doesn't take responsibility for their miscommunication, and their only offer is to leave the credit balance on the account. Be warned. I am sure most of you are like us in that you don't have alot of extra money to pay bills a month in advance at the moment.

White Sox, O'Malley strike deal
Southpaw assigned to team in Birmingham
By DAVE KANE STAFF WRITER
Published Wednesday, May 07, 2008
Ryan O'Malley is heading south in the latest chapter of his
professional baseball odyssey. He hopes this route eventually leads
him back to Chicago, even though it would be on the South Side this time.
SHG grad Ryan O'Malley played in the Cubs organization from 2002 to 2008.
O'Malley, a Sacred Heart-Griffin High School and Lincoln Land
Community College graduate, said Tuesday he has agreed to a minor
league contract with the Birmingham Barons. The Barons, an affiliate
of the Chicago White Sox, play in the Class AA Southern League.
Read the rest of the story at:
http://sj-r.com/sports/stories/29909.asphttp://www.barons.com
If the Baron's team sounds familiar to you, it might be because
another Illinoisan played for them in 1994...
"The 1994 season was historic for the Barons as former NBA superstar
Michael Jordan switched sports and was assigned to the club on March
31. Jordan's popularity helped shatter the club's season attendance
record (467,867). Jordan batted .202 with 3 homers and 51 RBI and
stole a club-leading 30 bases as the team was covered by journalists
from around the world. The Barons drew 985,185 overall and millions of
others watched as the club played on national or regional television 4
times."

The big issue with drugs being in our drinking water is not necessarily
due to taking medications and then traces of them being transferred via
the water system.
The big problem is when people flush unused medications down the
toilet. If you must dispose of unused medications, put them in a small
container that will not break down as fast, and in your trash. By
sending them to the landfill, it will take longer for them to break
down and enter any water source.
About the test results: what do they really even mean? There are no
Federal or State EPA regulations even set for testing for medications
in water supplies. Yes, this needs to be done and probably should have
been done YEARS ago. The only reason people are paying attention now
is because this has been a news item. It's great that it is in the
news, but research needs to be done to see what amounts of these items
are safe in our water, rather than just a test to see how much is in
there.
I have a question..... is anyone else experiencing problems with their
Comcast Internet?
I'm having trouble getting my email to come into my email program.
I have called Tech support and I knew more than the gentleman in North

Phillies Notes: Phillies' Werth proving to be picky at plate
PITTSBURGH - Patience is a virtue, unless a batter gets a first-pitch
fastball over the heart of the plate.
Jayson Werth understands that better than anybody.
Through Wednesday, according to John Dewan's Stat of the Week and
Baseball Info Solutions, Werth has seen more pitches per plate
appearance (4.75) than any other hitter in baseball with 30 or more
plate appearances. He led baseball in that category last season, when
he averaged 4.58.

I have two Quackers and can imagine how you feel. A few years ago one of them got out during three of the worst storm days we've ever had. On the fourth day I found him, wet and hungry. They are very sturdy. Keep looking. I found my bird about 10 blocks away.
Lost small green and blue Quacker parrot on west side of
Springfield.Near Lincoln and Lawrence.Goes by name of Skipper.
