Hi everyone,

Do you have any Singapore contacts or company details that sell tent stakes / pegs that can be use in the construction of a Scout flag pole? They are to be used by SP Rovers.

These tent stakes / pegs should have a minimum length of 30 cm or 12 inches and can secure the manila hemp.

Below are some samples:

If you have other suggestions, please provide also.

Thanks.

Hi everyone,

I’m helping the organiser of CampVision 2007, to get more volunteers onboard.
CampVision is an annual camp for 100 youths-at-risk with a vision to inspire them to ‘Live Your Dream’. They are mainly from NCSS Homes and FSC. The dates are 6 July 2007, Friday 7.00 am – 8 July 2007, Sunday 4.00pm. Venue is Camp Christine & Sarimbun Camp.

There are various ways in which you can volunteer for this camp, just liaise with Paul, the camp organiser. There is a Volunteers' Briefing on 23 June 2007 between 1pm-6pm, as well as scheduled HOME visits from 12 June onwards. For more information, see attachments and
www.campvision.org.

If you wish to make a difference to the lives of these less-fortunate youths, pls email Paul at <
sportive_man@... > soonest possible. I would strongly encourage you to volunteer your time and expertise for this wonderful cause. I might be volunteering for the first day and if you are going too, do drop me an SMS.

Yours-in-Rovering-Forever,

Hi all,

Believe some of you might have heard from Liyan about the bumboat trip for the upcoming FO Pulau Hantu kayaking event from 26-27 May 2007 (Saturday-Sunday). Currently we already have 16 alumni confirmed going, and hope to bring the number up to 24 as 1 bumboat can take 12 people and we hope to be able to fill 2 bumboats completely.

The tentative meeting venue is directly at West Coast Pier at around 1300hrs, but we might be meeting up earlier at Clementi NTUC to buy our own food for dinner. For those who are working on Saturday, not to worry, the alumni schedule is flexible and can be subjected to changes to accommodate everyone. The cost should be around S$20-25 max per person for a 2-way trip, excluding food. Great chance to rest and relax and have a taste of mess-tin dinners and hammock swings once again (^_^) Definitely all are welcome ¨C spouses, partners, friends, even mistresses/flings! =P

Please contact me at ruthlim4@gmail.com or 96314050 for more details if interested. Hope to see you all there! =>

Yours-in-Rovering,

Yihui

Hi guys,

Sorry, the last link was wrong. The correct link for the contest is actually here:

(hint, she acts in Phua Chu Kang's sister-in-law).
Saw TKH at the coffee shop near my place the other day, she's really fit, not an ounce of fat on her.
Anyway, it's a easy win for GV movie tickets!

I thought the Cages show was great (for a local production).

 Asia Professional Speakers

~ Celebrity Speaker~

Alain- Human Spiderman- Robert

Discover the wisdom and talents of the Celebrity Speaker, Climber and Extreme Athlete, for the first time in Singapore, the Asia Professional Speakers Singapore is proud to introduce the HUMAN SPIDERMAN Mr. Alain Robert.

In 1994, Alain Robert climbed his very first skyscraper, in Chicago. The « Urban Climber » was born. Alain realized that he enjoyed climbing what seemed impossible.

After all, he was also aware that it offered him a chance to earn a living. So he went around the world searching for the skyscraper of his dreams. He was also sent to jail many times as he climbed without authorization. But it did not much matter : Alain Robert would rather stay in a prison than in a hospital.

Meeting people (presidents and prisoners, kings and shanty town folks) was one of the tripąs highlights and now he in addition to climbing he shares his secrets to audiences around the world who like to learn łhow he does what he does˛

Alain Robert is known for his bold ascents, but the public is unaware that he often climbs to collect money for charity. In 1997, he climbed -without authorization- the worldąs tallest skyscraper in Kuala Lumpur.  The impact on the media was so great that Sabah Foundation asked him to climb its building in Borneo. With government authorization, the event grew extensively, drawing a crowd of 15,000 people. The event raised over $150,000..

Spiderman is my nickname, but I have no supernatural powers. When I climb skyscrapers, thereąs no special effect. No safety net !

Being a top athlete requires total concentration. And some sacrifices. I have suffered a great deal, but hereąs the result. Never give up, make your dreams come true

Individual Records

World record for the most extreme solo route ever achieved-(8b, Gorge of the Verdon, in 1993)

Award for his solo performance, presented by the President of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) Juan Antonio Samaranche, in 1993

Award for his solo performance, Festival des Diableręts (Switzerland), in 1992

Grand Prix « LąAigle dąOr », Adventure Film Festival, Val dąIsčre (France) in 1999

Join Alain Robert and discover the wisdom of personal mastery, energy transfer, and mind over matter including the Keys to Working with Media, and...
  • Why you are much more than you realize
  • How professional speaking is simpler that you might think
  • When he decided to start making more than Euro 10k for an hour talk
  • Where you can invest your time and energy to get maximum results in professional speaking
  • Question and answer session
  • And so much moreŠ
When he was a child, his heroes were Bonatti, Rébuffat, Desmaison, some of the most famous rock-climbers of all time. Alain Robert was brought up with their lyric, epic adventures. He decided to become a top climber, but his parents did not much appreciate such a desire. He did not want them to find out that he started to learn the rudiments of climbing as a boy scout. He learnt how to move, how to handle the ropes « so as to become a climber like his heroes ». When he was 12, he climbed eight floors, got home by the window as he had forgotten his keysŠand the rest will be shared in Singapore on Tuesday January 9th!

Sulphur is dangerous to the atmosphere. Yes I agree with markawfg that we have made imbalances. Right now thereis so much rain in singapore. It is getting floods which we never had since the 80s!

We've gotten into this mess because of the imbalances we've created

skeptical that continued tinkering is going to improve our situation

continues.

It reminds me of those ads you see extorting the virtues of this or
that new prescription drug designed to relieve a disease and then
cautioning us on the various side effects the new drug will cause.

I'm not saying its not worth exploring further, but haven't we done
enough damage without possibly creating more?

Ok, just take all of it, and shove them out of the window because it doesn’t work here.

Yo Neil,

You there on business trip? Wow...lucky i'm not required to go there for work (as for now....kekeke). I think it is not easy to attain intermediate driving skill over at Bengal, India...I have seen the traffic at Nepal/Kathmandu..not easy indeed.

Anyone into driving to Malaysia? So far, have tried to Cameron Highland, Kuantan, Malacca.

Hi Dear Alumni Friends,

This email travels over the Bay of Bengal to reach you literally, once again.  Earlier on, Li Yan, one of the key alumni driving a ‘reuniting’ effort of the alumni force, prepared this form for us to fill and send back to her (at dailiyan@...)… the response has been great so far.  So 2nd time calling those who have not done so to spend 30 seconds of your time to do an update.  This will enable them to like contact you guys and gals easier when the next DnD comes, or when someone strikes the Toto big prize and looking for someone to share the prize money or something like that you know ?

Anyway, I know this is terribly informal, apologise for that and hope to catch up with you all when I’m back in Singapore once again.  Else if anyone is planning a “experience” trip to India you can always let me know, I have attained intermediate level in driving in India and can drive you around if you trust me enuf.

Take care and God Bless,

Neil Tan
