Welcome to the SpiritFire Festival egroup!
This is the place where you will find information on SpiritFire Festival, an annual community gathering that runs every summer at a beautiful Sufi retreat central to Albany, New York City, New Jersey, Pennsylvania... and all of our New England community.
We are a gathering of creative beings who join together through rhythm, dance, chant, visual arts, and ritual in the sacred container of the all-night fire circle. There is no singular spiritual path; all are welcome! You'll find an amazing diversity of beings circling together through the night, including those from Sufi, Pagan, Christian, Buddhist, African diaspora, and non-spiritual paths.

Here on the list we discuss aspects of our gathering and also the fire circle ritual itself - the pathways that bring us together: Music (African and Middle Eastern drumming, percussion, didgeridoo, singing bowls, frame drums), Dance (Danskinetics, contact improv, belly dance, sacred circle dances, free dance, trance dance), Voice (chant, kirtan, mantras, harmony/improvisation, spontaneous song, poetry, Rumi), Seva (service out of spiritual love/devotion - offering water, smudging, blessing, healing, Reiki, etc.) and the mysteries, including all manner of ritual and visual arts (check out the SpiritFire media gallery for examples: http://spiritfirefestival.org/photos

Many announcements made to registered folks will also be made here, and you can also arrange for rides, talk about your intentions and experiences... We look forward to circling the mandala of rhythm and movement with you this summer.
