When my son was diagnosed with autism, I joined an on-line group which helped me gain the knowledge & understanding in caring for my wonderful child. It was and still is, a comfort knowing that our family was not going through this journey alone.

I created this group specifically to serve families who live or work with special needs children throughout Western Wayne County in cities such as Plymouth, Canton, Livonia, Northville, Wayne, Westland,& Garden City. This group serves as a message board for parents and interested parties in communicating local information from changes in school district policies that may affect your child to great places in the local area that are kid friendly. If you just want to vent about a bad IEP or share a story about your child, this is the place to do it.If you live outside the above mentioned areas, you are still welcome to participate.

This group is not a debate forum. This group is about parental and community support as well as sharing and learning.

Whether you are a parent, educator or relative of a special needs child (be it autism, mental disability, physical disability)this can serve as a great venue to exchange information with people who are in similar situations.
