This discussion listserve will fill a need for discussion and news about sovereignty related issues and indigenous rights. Sovernspeakout was created to promote discussion along the lines of Indigenous sovereignty. Many current lists are fully moderated but Sovernspeakout is not.
I hope everyone who joins this discussion will learn something about other people in the world. There are so many commonalities in the fight for Indigneous sovereignty globally that I think this network will be useful to a broad range of individuals, organizations, communities and indigneous nations, either recognized or otherwise. I see this discussion group as coalition building for the future and for the present. I hope that we can have broad ranging discussions which will allow for everyone to have a voice in this process. This is then anti-elitist in its inception even though many communities can not participate in the discussion because of limitations, like technology, politics, economics, etc. I hope that as more people gain access to the internet they will find this discussion and add their own experiences to the process. I believe that the internet has possibilities of growing beyond national boundaries to the traditional coalition models and will inspire greater global interactions and support mechanisms for all people currently under repressions of one form or another. Thank you for subscribing and I hope to see a lively discussion in the future.
