Message from Morley:
I recently started collecting Mint NH stamps of The Pitcairn Islands.
The Pitcairn Islands Postal Service had an ad in Linn's Stamp News
so I was able to purchase the last 5 years from them via the internet.
I found a couple of dealers who sell past issues but their stock is
limited and I can't locate some of the issues I need.
Do you have a listing of dealers located in the US which you could
send me. I would really appreciate your thoughts about finding
some dealers.
Thank you.

Since I am obviously not keeping up with the group website as often as
I should I was wondering if anyone would be interested in being
assigned moderator privileges? If you would like to volunteer to keep
an eye on the group website and moderate the message boards please
send me an email. Many thanks. cory_apn
Dear SPSC Group Members,
Sorry, hadn't been in the group website for awhile and when I finally
did visit, I found the message boards full of spam emails. I sometimes
wonder if it's worth it to keep the club active because everything
related to Yahoo email and groups seems to be nothing but millions of
junk emails. Anyway, I have deleted the persons responsible for the
spamming from our group for now. Problem is, they will probably be back.

Good day Cory and all,
I've uploaded some of my favorite stamps of Tahiti Nui along with New
Guinea and Norfolk Island and Pitcairn Island. I have many more from
Pitcairn but have as yet not scanned them.
As well, I've added two new "links" of interest on the Internet.
One of them relates to our favorite subjects, the "South Pacific"
while emphasising Tahiti, called 'Loyalist Landings'. A group that is
interested in all aspects of the British venturing into the South
Pacific to explore or exploit and the effects of the cultural
exchanges between the British and the South Sea Islanders.
The other, relates to the 'saga' of the HMAV Bounty and all associated
aspects that went into the conception of the Bounty going to Tahiti to
Jamaica with the HMS Provdence and Assistant to deliver the breadfruit
etc.
We do have a lot of fun with both these groups.
Hope you enjoy my small samples of stamps.
May the bellowing winds keep your sails full,

Uploaded some new photos of stamps of the South Pacific to the SPSC
photo section. If you have some photos to post, please do. It's easy
and the other club members will enjoy it.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to a couple of new members within
the last month. Everyone is invited to post their South Pacific Stamp
news and stories. Have fun.
I have found a really good web site for selling and trading. I want to
share it with everyone. The site is http://www.MYDREW.com ; They have a
excellent social network feature where you can trade with friends and
friends of friends. Since I started using the site, I started making
alot of money selling my stuff. Life has been good. Check it out, it
has made a huge difference for me.
Hello Folks,
Preparations for PISG's presence at the Washington 2006 World
Philatelic Exhibition (www.washington-2006.org) are proceeding. On
Friday, June 2nd there will be a Pitcairn Mini-Convention (lasting
two hours), immediately followed by a PISG Lunch. The mini-
convention will consist of presentations by acknowledged Pitcairn
experts. The scheduled keynote speaker is Herb Ford - Director of
the Pitcairn Islands Study Center at Pacific Union College. The
lunch will be held at a nearby location, yet to be determined.
At this point, I would like to get an idea of how many folks may
attend (so we can make sure we have a big enough room, etc.). If you
could send me an email stating your interest level in attending the
mini-convention and/or the luncheon I would be most obliged. Folks
that say they are interested will be put on a mailing list for
further updates. For those of you who are particularly devoted/crazy
and are interested in helping to man the PISG booth for a couple of
hours, please let me know that too.
Many Thanks,
Mark Butterline
PISG Representative to Washington 2006
