South Asia Contact Group is an academic platform that aspires to build a vibrant South Asian community. This Group promotes secular values and preaches peaceful co-existence among the member countries of the South Asian region. It tries to understand the national problems by looking at the issues from regional perspective. It strives to mitigate intra-regional tensions without loosing sight of one’s national identity. The focus is on the development and thrust is to knit the region for the common good. The members of this group are scattered all over the region and the world. They comprise of journalists, academics, retired bureaucrats, independent thinkers and others. All of them have their own nationalistic and religious sensibilities. They all have joined this group for the interest of welfare and the development of the region. This group works through E-mail and its posts automatically gets distributed to more than 186 members worldwide. One can agree to disagree and entitled to hold ones own views but none is allowed to hurt the sentiments of others or do hate mongering through this group. I alone reserve the rights to purge such persons out of this group. The membership of SCG is restricted but those who hold secular, democratic and regional outlook are welcome here. The motto of the Group is to make South Asia a dynamic entity in the global framework.
