Description

The Sons of Lugh is a Living History group spread throughout Southern Manitoba.

We portray the Norse (Vikings) from approximately 850 – 950 AD.
Our group persona is that of a group of Irish Sea pirates.

We aim to teach and learn historically acurate skills, including both household skills and those of battle. Our primary reason for getting together is to increase our skills and prepare for events that we do Reenacting at.

We learn to safely use real, blunted weapons in rebated steel combat sessions, as well as learn many of the vital crafts of the day, including but not limited to:
Tablet weaving, woodworking, armor and weapon crafting, cooking, sewing and patternmaking, leatherworking, tentmaking, as well as any other related skill that catches our interests.

We attempt to get together at least once a month, with location varying dependant on the week and the planned activities (most often near Brandon or in Selkirk)

If you are interested, please consider joining the group, then read our 'for newcomers' file to get more detailed information.

Please feel free to ask any questions you like.
