Greetings!
Actually, if the grape juice or wine were consecrated properly (esp.
if by a Priest in a Church), then I bet it would make a good
substitution.
There is also the possibility of using salt water (sea water) in
place of blood. I discuss this at length in "Secrets..." Our blood
plasma, as it turns out, is based on sea water. (Proving we all
once lived in the oceans!)
Also in the same book, I talk about "Solomonic Omiero." This is a
more involved form of Holy Water:
1) First make some Holy Water (either as outlined in the Key of
Solomon, or obtained from a Church, etc).
2) Also find some Psalms that relate to the Force/Angel/Spirit you
are working with. See "Use of the Psalms" in our links section, or
even search the Psalms for keywords in an online Bible.
3) Also gather some fresh plants that relate to the
Force/Angel/Spirit in question. (You don't want woods or resins-
look for leafy green plants!) Scott Cunningham wrote some good
source material for this kind of thing. See "Incenses, Oils and
Brews."
4) Prepair your ritual space, and yourself, as you normally would
for magickal work. It is best to perform this work on the proper
Day and Hour of the Force/Angel/Spirit.
5) Finally - put the Holy Water into a large bowl. Take some of the
plant material in hand, and begin to sing/recite the Psalms as you
immerse the plants into the Water and begin to rip and tear at the
plant material.
Keep going until the plants just can't be ripped, torn, squeezed or
pressed any further, and you are out of plant material. The water
should be as dark green as you can possibly get it! When this is
achieved, store the Water away like any other Holy Water, and use it
as needed for sacrifice/offering. :)
