Hello,
I'm finally able to use my hand again.Wanted to touch base and
welcome newest members. One of our new members lost her son in the war
so please send good thoughts her way.
Now we have a new local member ,even if she doesn't realize it.We
have a 90 year old altzheimers patient that for some reason only
remembers how to knit 6" squares. Her daughters keep buying her yarn
and when she is finished they drop them off.We told them we will put
them together for her and add a note to the afghan before delivering.
Is anyone going to participate in the contest and if so let me
know when your squares ,afghans etc... will be in the mail.I'd like to
have them in the next few weeks so we can close out the contest and
get the winners their yarn in the mail.
We have had some beautiful afgans delivered so far and we are so
so pleased that so many are finding this the cause they wish to
contribute too.Thank You Again for being apart of this group and for
caring so much about someone you have never meant.
                                           Keep those needles busy

I am originally from Turbotville PA and now live in NY. Some of my
family who live in that area recently visited and I asked my sister-in-
law to drop 2 lapghans off at the store for your collection. It's such
a nice thing you are doing.

I Hope this finds everyone well.Sorry I have not posted for awhile
but have been having some health problems.I'm Back now.
We are over 50 donated items now and are working towards 100.It
shouldn't take long to reach that goal.We have had another group call
and they are dropping off 25 lap quilts. We never imagined our venture
would be so successful so very quickly.
Now since tthe weather here is beginning to change we want to start
the delivery of the items. We just hated to do it when it was so hot
out.
I hope everyone is staying busy and are keeping those fingers
moving.

I just spoke to Lucinda and we are over 100 afghans and lap robes. The
first batch is going to start being delivered in 2 weeks. We are going
to have alot of warm soldiers thanks to everyone involved.I believe
our little lady with altzheimers has now completed enough squares for
me to put together into an afghan.I still think this is just a
wonderful story.
I want to thank everyone here for being apart of this and may God
Bless you all.

I stumbled across this group while looking for charity patterns for
another group. As a veteran, I would like to thank every one of you
for the work you are doing. Although I never deployed and was never
wounded, I can tell you with certainty that these gifts are
appreciated.
I'm crying now as I write this, because we found out a month ago that
my husband, in the National Guard, is deploying at the end of the
year. I only hope he doesn't ever need one of your afghans. If he
does, though, I'm glad to see people are helping and doing good things
for the troops.
Thank you,
Amanda

Well Ladies I must say this is one of the quietest group I believe I
have sen in a long time. Please chatter about anything, within reason so
we can get to know one another.
My latest developments are:As of Oct 2nd I will be going back to
school to get my degree in Medical Office Technology. Also the November
Country Sampler has my pillows and stockings that I design and sew in
it.They are listed under Lucinda's if anyone wants to see what I am up
too.I guess I am going to be very busy for the next few months.I just
printed off a wonderful knitted afghan pattern from Debbie
Macomber. You can get a free pattern a month at here site
debbiemacomber.com.You have to click on the knitting link to get to
them.

Hello! I have been makin afghans for whatever reason now for a little
time and have some already made with no home to go to. I was very
excited to find this group for two reasons...One, I am a veteran of the
cold war and am always looking for a way to help any veteran of any
era. Second, I love crocheting and really have no one to give my
completed items to. I just decided to make what I wanted and the place
to give them would come around some day. I've only been crocheting for
2 years now and just love it.

Thank you for the opportunity to share what I have with the brave and
courageous injured and wounded veterans. I will be shipping out some
of my items this week :-)

Hi!

I've got an afghan that's a stash buster pattern where each stripe is
a different color. I'm in Texas and it's just too warm here to use
it. My grandmother made it, so I want it to go to a special someone.
When I searched for charities, this one caught my eye. I'd love to
know it was comforting a disabled veteran.

I'll post a picture of it soon. Is there a preferred address for
completed afghans?

I've just started crochet myself, so I'm sure that I'll do some
squares as well.

Thanks for putting this together!

Kari

A wonderful surprise arrived at the shop.A package with lapghans
etc... from someone in this wonderful group. The 20th the first are
being delivered.Hopefully it will finally cool off a bit so the
thought of an afghan doesn't make one sweat. It has been terrible for
this time of the year here in Pa.90's today.Yuk.....I really hope to
many did not book fall foliage tours earlier in the year because they
sure will be disappointed.
Welcome any new members.I will be checking in a few times a
week to see what everyone is up too.

Hi Amanda,

I am also a veteran (of the cold war) and when I found this group
I knew it was the one for me to use my talents. Veterans, always a
great cause!
I pray your husband will be safe - no matter where he goes. It's
a tough life, and you both sacrifice so much, but where would we really
be if it wasn't for our troops???

God Bless,
Debbie

This Is Easily The Product of The Century!

As a consumer product examiner my job is to investigate thousands of
products actual performance against the claims that the companies
make. Needless to say most products never come close to meeting the
claims of the companies that sell them. Recently, I came across a
most spectacular performing product that in many instances even
exceeds the companies claims so I am sharing the information with
you:

The company located at http://theshopperadvantage.com packages and
sells programs that help consumers save money on everything from
groceries to high end name brand electronics. I recently tested
their sampler program and was stunned to find that the savings
really live up to the hype. I was able to save 79% on a test grocery
purchase and I bought a Dell computer for only $248.00! Also with
their sampler program I was able to eat at a 4 star steak house with
5 other people and the entire bill was under $20.00. So this week's
pick is definately this program. Go take a look and start saving
your hard earned dollars!
