A NOTE ON MODERATION

You are welcome on SPN, one of Pakistan's largest email lists with over 7500 members. This list is moderated. Below are some basic rules:

WHAT TO POST ON SPN:

The SPN provides an opportunity to spread informations and ideas as well as engage in debates that help build socialist, democratic, feminist, environmentalist campaigns and movements in Pakistan, in particular, and globally, in general.

WHAT NOT TO POST ON SPN:

Do not send hate/racist, religious, chauvinist, commercial, sexist and insulting material.

INDIVIDUAL-SPECIFIC MESSAGES:

In many cases, the list members want to greet, question, congratulate a certain member. You are requested to mail directly to the person concerned.


AVOID CROSS-POSTINGS:
You are requested to avoid cross-postings. Of course, in order to build campaigns, cross postings are most welcome.


MENTION THE SOURCE:
Members should mention source when they post news, essays etc.

AVOID MAINSTREAM MEDIA:

Please do not post what already has appeared in mainstream press.

AN EMAIL A DAY:

Try not to send more than one mail a day particularly when you are involved in a debate. Also, when you are engaged in a certain debate, please answer all the contributions in one go.

AVOID ONE-LINERS:

To second somebody's opinion, simply oppose or say something in the passing, better say it to the person concerned. Avoid one-liners.

WHEN YOU GET message (FROM SPN):

Sometimes a mail 'from SPN', may reach your mailbox with the Subject:''from SPN''. This mail, from another SPN member, is forwarded by the Moderator. In CC bar, you find the emailing account of the person concerned. Please, always answer the person concerned and not the Moderator.
