Clean up went well.

Ryan, Chris Philp, Jack Harrison, Darrel and myself had the perfect day for cleaning up the snowmobile park area.

Jack loaded his truck with a mile or so of Barb wire. Darrel and myself built a couple secret kicker jumps and also load truck up with another mile or 2 of scraped barb wire and trash.  By no means did we get it all but we made a great effort, so keep your tips up. The big culvert pipe next to the road jump is moved…SWEET!

Ryan and Chris did a lot of surveying with markers and shrubbery removal. Lots of windicators and rock locators in place.

Pray for lots of SNOW!

Eddy

Sorry I had to bail at last minute guys....The water pump in our water source heatpump went out the day before this and house was without heat night before cleanup....except for the wife who'd supply a winter's worth of heat in a very short period if I'd taken off without tending to this repair.  Got it fixed but missed helping out.

thats alright jon, we forgive you.  as far as tall bushes go, we trimmed about 60 acres worth. my fore arms and hands are still sore, i can hardly hold a coffee cup.  once the snow starts flying i plan on looking for more suspect bushes for trimming. we opened up alot of terrian, with a few more guys out there we could have a really clean park to play in, even in low snow years.

Hey guys,

I had kids soccer parties and a cub scouts meetings to attend on Sunday.  My house would have been "HOT" too if I had left.

I'm sure hoping to make it up there this winter and enjoy all the hard work you guys did.  I'll try and help later or next year.

Off Topic: Is the wind gustier or smoother up there than a typical lucky peak morning?

yeah, yeah, excuses and such. my dog Ichabod had a near fatal case
of Pancreasitis and I spent all night Sat. at the new emergency
animal care center off of eagle rd. Great place, good people. Icha
was on an IV for two days and couldn't have any water or food. Poor
little guy. I was able to take him home yesterday at 7 pm. No more
bacon or sausage for the puppus.

To answer your question. It really depends on the flow. NW is
usually pretty nice. Definitely not as gusty. Some of the SE flows
are gusty but alot depends on the terrain and your location. You
can almost always find a good area if you take the time to look.
Last Resort and Double barrel are the best for SE. While the Snowmo
Park and The Big Easy work great with NW.. your gonna freak the
first time you huck yourself off a big hill. best feeling in the
world

I can never seem to get these videos to work.  Any ideas as to what I may be missing, besides computer deficiencies inside my brain?

Bill,

You have to be very patient and have “quiktime.”  After you click on a movie, your computer will start downloading it, but it doesn’t necessarily tell you that’s what it’s doing.  Then, in a minute or 2… or 3, a second internet page will open and the movie will play automatically.

Snowkiteidahores,

I have the opportunity to get the Windzup crew here this Friday with the new line up of the Ozone kites for Demo. They also just happen to have the latest premier snowkite video Release Cloud 9 Im sure it has nothing on Adducted by the Wind.  But somehow they got video of Chasta riding at our local park without our knowledge in the video???  Video is 45 mins or so.

Anyway I know this is short notice but if I can rally up enough people to view like 10+ they will come this weekend.  Otherwise they will postpone until mid November.

Is anyone out there interested in seeing the video and demo the new 2008 line up?

Im offer my house for the video debut party unless we can find a venue that will support a big screen video projector???  We can also do an end of H20 Season party!

Please RSVP for Friday night so I can get a head count and see if we have enough bodies! Demo kites Friday afternoon and Saturday at Columbia Village.

Everyone and anyone is invited, tell friends if we can make it happen!

The kitesites.com free video podcast is already the third most popular
kiteboarding

'snowkiting' is
entered into the itunes store.

There's also another way to subscribe, we are featured in veoh.

they play OK, but veoh versions take a few days to get posted. The most current
material
will be in Itunes.

I like veoh - it's very cool stuff, but I'm trying to get featured in iTunes, so
it would really
help for me to keep the subscriptions growing there.

The best way is through iTunes - it should work on almost any windows PC (and
every
apple). Just hit the 'subscribe in iTunes' link at www.kitesites.com and follow
the
intructions.

You don't need an ipod or an apple, although you'll probably like new media once
you
understand it - and apple has great stuff for that.

Bill,

You have to be very patient and have “quiktime.”  After you click on a movie, your computer will start downloading it, but it doesn’t necessarily tell you that’s what it’s doing.  Then, in a minute or 2… or 3, a second internet page will open and the movie will play automatically.

My bike shop has now made the seasonal shift to my ski shop.  I am waxing and tuning boards skis for gas money again.

(since I’m off the grass and Eddy doesn’t want my kinda ass!)

Wax $10

Hand tune $20

Includes a reasonable amount of base work.  Sorry, no base welds.

Also, my ‘08s are in and my ‘07 are up for grabs!

14m  $900

10m $750

Both are in excellent condition.  No damage on either one. Obviously the 14m has a little more time on it than the 10m, but both are still nice and crisp.  These were definitely the best Ozones so far, but it’s time to share the love and move on.   I would rather keep them local than put them on ebay.

My friend from Sydney posted this report onhis website for last weekend.

Sensational weekend at Lennox Heads for the NSWKBA State Titles. 25-30 knot nor'easeter all weekend long and brilliant weather.

But I think he left out a few things.  Boy I thoutht it was bad when we have a few rocks to deal with, here is what the local paper there reported on the comp

Kites, sharks, snakes
29.10.2007
By Steve Spinks
WHEN they call kitesurfing an extreme sport, they're not kidding.
The 78 competitors at the weekend's Lennox Head Kite Classic at Seven Mile Beach not only had to contend with a howling northerly wind yesterday but also packs of sharks - and a brown snake.
Who said sport was boring?
Competition was shortened on Saturday after a pack of tiger sharks closed Seven Mile Beach for three hours and a lack of wind kept competitors out of the water for the rest of the day.
However, conditions were perfect yesterday with a strong northerly so nine hours of competition was compacted into the first day of daylight saving.

There were still sharks out there today, one of the organisers said.
Apparently a couple of great whites, which is what some of the competitors said, and there was a brown snake as well.
As long as the sharks aren't floating around on the surface it's fine.
And as long as you don't fall off your board!
Gold Coast kitesurfer Paul Jackson prevailed in the open men's category, defending the title he won last year.
Jackson's superior surfing style proved the difference in a strong field where defending Australian champion Aaron Jarman, of the Sunshine Coast, was knocked out early.
Lennox Head's Shaun Craike, who finished third, was the highest placed local.
The women's division was won by Marine Sudre of Sydney with Byron Bay's Michelle Linkhorn second.
Locals fared better in the Over-35s.
Ash Woolley, of Ballina, won the division while Eric Groenewoud (Lennox) and Peter Gallop (Ballina) filled the minor placings.
In the legends division, Over-45s, Lennox's Bill Hession claimed fourth behind Kevin Johnson of the Sunshine Coast.
The Under-18s was an all Sunshine Coast affair with Scott Johnson, Andy Yates and Keahi De Aboitiz claiming the placing.
Johnson's win secured a father-son double for the Sunshine Coast family.
All the winners from the Lennox Head Classic, which doubles as the NSW and Queensland championships, earn the right to contest the Australian championships at Port Macquarie in February.
Hopefully, Port Macquarie will be shark and snake free!

Love the line "As long as the sharks aren't floating around on the surface it's fine."
Looking forward to the snow.
Cheers,
TW
