Jay and I finally got our shit together and are re-editting the snowkite move from last winter to submit to the X-Dance Film Festival. We are looking for any volunteers to give us a short sound bite on why you think snowkiting is so cool. We are up against the deadline. We have to have it edited and in the hands of Fedex Monday morning to make it. So, If you can give a call in the next day or 2 so we can set something up, that would be great.

Most everybody is in it one way or another. Just think.. you may be seen by 10s, 100s, MAYBE even 1,000s of people. If anyone has reservations about being in this, let us know ASAP!

I went Monday and had a good time. It was 46 degrees at Lucky Peak when I arrived at about 8:15am. Many might consider kiting in cold weather more crazy an idea. I would like to go, but it depends upon whether or not I can get a leaky bladder on my kite patched today. I will give you a call this evening.

Thanks for the reply.... I don't mind the cold as long as the wind is blowing enough for my 14M kite. The last two times I went up, I crashed my kite after the first couple minutes and couldn't relaunch for lack of wind. It got really old drifting to the other side of the reservoir.

If you need any repair items, please let me know. I have a kitefix repair kit that has about everything under the sun to fix your kite (including bladders). I think the bladder patches I have are instant stick ons.

Call me tonight if you think you want to give er' a try tomorrow morning.

Well.... just checked the forecast for tomorrow and what do you know....

Tonight: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of rain showers. Lows 38 to 43 light winds..

Friday: Partly cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain showers. Highs 56 to 64 light winds..

Friday night: Partly cloudy. Lows 35 to 40 light winds..

Personally I think the fall is the best season, because the winds seem to be more consistent. Summer is good because it is warmer, but the wind picks up the best at sunrise, which is usually about 5:30 to 6am. Too early for me.

Launching in the summer is a problem, depending upon the wind direction. It can be done at Barclay Bay. I have done it once, and not been able to get upwind as far as I would have liked to. Eddie, Steve, and Jon do it all the time and have good luck getting up wind. I usually walk or boat around to the cove, which is upwind, and water launch from there. In the fall when the water is down, there is clean wind and big beaches, just a short walk from Turner boat ramp. I prefer taking the walk to have a clean launch.

Attention All Snowkiters!!!!!  Utah site has 1.5 ft of snow already
and more is on the way. There is an Official event on Dec 2-4 and at
least 2 of the Boise Group is going so far. I need to book rooms at
the local hotel now b/c it is filling fast.  Darrel and I are leaving
Friday afternoon and returning on Monday afternoon.  Let me know if
you want to join our "dirt-bag" (saving $$$) adventure so we can save
on gas and pack the room with people. Big event and should be a great
party.

it comes compleate with 5 line bar and line kite repiar patch the kite
has onely been used once im saileing the kite for 400 and the board is
a hanna crew matrix cracked once fixed it and will hav a new pice of
fiber glass but on it to cover the crack that was fixed im onely
wanting 150 for it everything is 05

These exceptional prices are for small kites (6m) and trainers (2 & 3 m). Otherwise prices start at about $550 for 12 to 14 m, similar to prices offered at http://www.ProKiteSurf.com other outlets. Also you should check to see if price is for a kite only. This is usually the case. A bar is typically $100 extra. Then there is shipping...

in the sporrt i can probley convence jim bison to start a kite school
in boise it wont be that hard i think but what whold u think about a

If you are interested I and another snowkite instructor would be willing to cometo your area for a 3-4 day kite camp. Another alternative would be a kite camp at Georgetown Lake. Drop me a line at montanakitesports@... for info. Also, we may be hosting a PASA instructors clinic if someone is interested in getting certified. Think snow!
