We’re SMAD!! And we’re not going to take Republican mis-leadership ANYMORE!
Our mission - to work diligently to fill our elected offices with Democrats in the local, state and national levels.

We affirm the following goals:
• EDUCATE the citizenry on current events that affect their lives;
• ENCOURAGE folks to get involved with local, state, and national issues;
• ENERGIZE our local Democrats to vote and make their voices heard;
• ENTHUSE the community to work together in harmony and respect.

Through energy, enthusiasm and education, the San Marcos Area Democrats offer a network
of support and vitality to the Hays County Democratic Party. Our goal is to “walk the talk” by
putting into action the very principles of community service for which Democrats are known.

ACTIVE COMMUNITY SERVICE - Our most significant community service to-date has
been to “adopt” the San Marcos Army Reservists who were deployed to Iraq in December of
2003. We made a commitment to our soldiers that we would not forget them for the duration of their deployment and, thankfully, we have been able to keep that commitment. We have sponsored three Care Package Send-Offs and enlisted all the citizens of San Marcos, as well as the Hays and Caldwell county communities.

It is through the diversity of individuals and their ideas that positive change can be
accomplished. The San Marcos Area Democrats welcome everyone to join our organization and to express their individual concerns and their visions for the future. Together we will work to build a better world for our children, our families and our neighbors.
