thats not an option because the track is set up for spray glue, my other cars the Champion, JK, and Parma with S16D motors don't suffer from over heating...

Also, check for axle binding. You may have a bent upright, causing your axle to bind up or you have a bent axle. Also, sometimes dirt builds up in the oil...

... The wattage is less important than the temperature of the iron. Most metal chassis act like a big heat sink, so you need a hot iron. I bought a Hakko 455....
