select verses of the Bhagavad Gita from the published

Tulasidas. He is the illustrious author of

INSTRUCTIONS ON STUDY: Hari Badri Narayan of South

Africa, who is now a student of Lucknow University,

has come to the Ashram for the summer vacation.



"O Hari! go on with your class lessons here also.

Prepare well for the next year. The lessons of the

first six months you should study properly now

itself. If you have a good grounding you will be able

to grasp the lessons quickly in the class. Later,

even if you have to be absent from the class owing to

illness or other reasons, you will not be the loser.

And in the end you will get brilliant success in the

final examination. You should practise Sadhana and

also render some service to the Ashram. At the same

time you should prepare yourself for the next year's

course."



The Master gave the above instructions to Hari Badri

Narayan. Some time previously he arrived at the

Ashram after losing his things and being stranded in

India. The Master had obtained admittance for him at

the Lucknow University.

mountain herbs. God is not a coward to run away from

towns, cities and villages. He is all-pervading. The

Gita does not want you to flee from your worldly

career to the solitude of the forest. It does not bid

you hide in a cave of the Himalayas for attaining the

supreme peace of the Eternal. It tells you to resist

unrighteousness, to develop divine virtues and try to

attain Self-realisation in and through the world." -
