The Divine Life Society was found by His Holiness Sri Swami Sivanandaji Maharaj in the year 1936, for the widest possible propagation of the most precious and the best elements of the great Culture and living Idealism of Inner India. His Holiness strove ceaselessly through this Society
and the Ashram to bring about a world-wide dissemination of the vital, ethical and spiritual ideal of India and to broadcast the knowledge of Yoga, Vedanta, Dharma and an exemplary life of divine virtues, right conduct, selfless service, universal brotherhood and the unity of life as a whole.
