Hi Carol,
It's good to know that there were TWO Jacob SHUTTS! I was making the assumption
that the letters I got copies of were discussing our Jacob SHUTT. I would have
figured it out eventually, but you saved me hours of work. Yes, I will send you
copies of what I have. Probably put it in the mail tomorrow or the next day.

He is not our Jacob Henry Shutt, Â however, and that may have been the problem
of the lady referred to in the 2d letter. I have speculated that this fellow may
have been our Jacob Henry Shutt's father who family traditions tells us was
named Jacob Shutt. After that family tratitions vary though; some say Jacob
Henry was orphaned young & raised by another family, others say the father,
Jacob, fought in the Revolution as did Jacob Henry and they migrated west
together after the war.

however, recruited as a fifer (some family traditions say "drummer") at age 12
in 1776 into "Mad" Anthony Wayne's regiment. You can read more of what I have
found in the two documents in our Files section: 1) Jacob Henry Shutt Research
Summary 2)Shutt Families 1700s Pennsylvania
