The Ships Project was founded in October, 2001, to provide handmade "hugs from home" to troops deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, both at sea and on the ground. We have since expanded to include troops involved in Operation Iraqi Freedom. This is an "announcements only" list. We send handmade (knitted/crocheted/sewn) hats, slippers/socks and cool ties to American troops serving in the War on Terror. We'd love to have you join us!

To date, we have shipped more than 476,000 handmade "hugs from home" to deployed troops!

Whether you knit, crochet, sew, or just want to help with postage, we'd love to have you join us. The list is for active members only since it is an "announcements" only list, not a discussion list.
