An e-mail list for all families who have adopted children from, or are in the process of adopting children from, Shijiazhuang Social Welfare Institute of Shijiazhuang City in the Hebei Province, Peoples Republic of China.




This is the entrance to the orphanage part of the S. Social Welfare Institute, which consists of a complex of buildings. They house not only children there but elderly and other adults in need of residential care.

The two women were in our group and the man on the far right is the director of the institute (or at least, he was when we were there in July 1999). the other two men next to him helped to run the orphanage. The man on the far left was the "party man" assigned to the institute.
