The mission of the "New York City Shalom Community" is to create an intentionally loving fellowship in New York City, which meets regularly to foster and promote the "Principles and Skills of Loving" in everyday life -- within ourselves, our communities and our world. These meetings are open to all who seek to bring more love, goodwill, and growth into their lives.

Meetings are participatory and process-oriented. The processes we use at these meetings come from a variety of sources, and are designed to deepen our experience of each precious moment and to remind us to live our lives fully. The Community leadership team is composed of volunteers who have experienced a Shalom retreat and live in or around New York City. The team facilitates meetings, and enthusiastically encourages others to experience the power and passion of Shalom Retreats, wherever they are conducted.

THE FORMAT of our meetings will feel familiar to all Shalomers:
7:00 – 7:45 Snacks, Beverages, Informal Conversation
7:45 – 8:00 Dancing
8:00 – 8:15 Brief Check-In
8:15 – 9:15 Process Work
This is a time to deepen our connections with each other and feed our hearts and souls.
The evening’s facilitators may offer any variety of processes, but here are a few possibilities: bicycle chain, fishbowl discussion, heart wheel, meditation...
9:15 – 9:30 Brief Check-out, Shalom Songs, Close and Clean-up.
