There is a user group for BV7, see the BV7 web site.
You need to import the QSOs you want labels for into BV7 via ADIF.
You need to design the layout of the label before you print for the first
time. Select the LABEL DESIGNER WINDOW from the WINDOWS menu.
When you have designed the label, save it.
Go back to the main BV7 screen, select the QSOs you want printing and move
to the print queue window, normally on the left.
Press PRINT.

There are two ways to output an ADIF file.
From the main screen, <F2> <F6> <F6>. Select the portion of the log and then
<F5> ADIF.
Alternatively, if you want to print labels for the QSOs resulting from a
SEARCH, from the Main Menu, <F2>, <F2>, <F6> and enter "A" for ADIF.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
I have updated my version of shacklog and slim from the web which allowed me to
create an ADIF file
.
With help from Andy M5ALG we worked out how to save the file. From the main
screen - F2, F6, F6,then F5.
With the BV7 file I could not get it to do anything until I loaded the BDE file
into the BV7 folder. http://www.df3cb.com/bv/index.html BDE file is at the
bottom of the same
page as BV7 on the web, and has to be down loaded separately.
The import into BV7 from Shacklog has worked, so now can see my log in BV7.
I cannot get it to print yet. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
My printer still works OK with everything else on the computer
It will not beat me, I hope.
I will let you know how I get on.

I have tried and tried to set up BV7 to print labels as you suggest. Would it
be too big a job for you to tell us all how to do it in some detail. I am told
BV7 is good with its only major fault being no helpline.
Best wishes

Hi All,
I think this was discussed once before and not sure what the out come was.
I have now got a new computer with XP Pro.
Logging QSO's is fine, but as soon as I click on print a QSL label the computer
locks up and have to alt, ctrl, delete to get out of the program.

MartinThe address is in control.pmr
However, you can't just copy it over.
Let me have the address you want it for and I will send a new control.pmr,
which will then form part of your empty log.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
Hello Again Alan,
I have just made a duplicate of my "working copy" of Shacklog and have
succesfully imported the old log. This still produces dupes, but it is
progress.I still need to do a new export ( as I've had more qsos since)and then
sort in Excel before importing again. I seem to have mastered that now.
It did not show any errors with G1B qsos this time so maybe it is something to
do with the age of the original .pmr files I have.
I need to try that again, as they are the only .pmr files I have to get an empty
log. Maybe I need a new set?
I assume that once I've achieved all this, I can copy the file from my current
working version to display my correct qth address? If so which file is it
please?
Many thanks
Martin.

Hi Alan,
Thanks for the reply,
I have just found my original floppy disks although they do of course come up
with my old qth.
I have loaded these into another folder on my c:\
I then downloaded the latest from your website.
I then did the import
All ok except that for some reason it now throws an error on all my G1B mode
qsos?
So just these two to iron out now:
The G1B errors & the Address
Thanks again

Hi MartinYou need to import into an empty log.
The empty log is made up of the *.pmr files that came on your original
installation disc.
If you don't have those files, I can send you a set.

Hi All,
Any help welcome.
I have spent some time over several weeks typing the qsos from my old written
logbook into a copy of Shacklog that is on my laptop.
The Shacklog copy that I typed it into already had qsos in it so I exported the
whole lot and sorted it in Excel.
I have managed to use slim and import it to another copy of Shacklog ( I have
not messed with my working copy of Shacklog at all, yet).
What happens is that it does not overwrite the qsos that are dupes, but just
imports it all again and so the result is many dupes.
What is my best way foreward?
Remove the file that contains all the qso's and then do the import?
If so which file?
Or is there a better way.
Thanks
Martin

Hi Bobby,
Thanks for the email. I hope the weather is getting better in France. Lots of
rain here in the south of England.
I rang Derek G0IZV last week to see how things were at home as we have not heard
him on the radio for ages.
His wife is now home as the hospital can do nothing more to help her. The
helpers visit 4 times a day and Derek
is now kept even busier than he was before. Hopefully he might be on in the
morning (Tuesday).
Sean and I still talk during the week, not for to long as I still leave late
(Carolyn's fault for dragging me back to bed)
Looking forward to you coming home and getting back on the radio

Useful stuff from Iain, GM0UHC
Interesting that SHACKLOG has run without problems from MS operating system
updates for nearly 20 years, from DOS through to Windows 7.

Hi Alan,
For what it's worth I have just set up Shacklog on a PC running Windows 7
RC. This was prompted when my old Dell began crashing. Anyway, I am happy to
report that Shacklog is running nicely. I am still using VE7CC's superb
cluster access software AR-User (or is it CC-User? hi!). I am also running
the latest version of HW-Virtual Serial Port (v3.0.37) to create a virtual
COM4 on 127.0.0.1
CC-User broadcasts the spots to this internal address while Shacklogs
listens to the virtual COM4.
Everything is working perfectly. I haven't tried comms in the other
direction since I prefer to 'spot' via CC-User.
Curious . . . I cannot post messages via this group although I have been
receiving them. When I log in, I am reccognised. I think this is a Yahoo
thing 'cos the same thing occurred on the GMBEACON group too, after I
unsubscribed from the UK-Microwave group (I was put off by their elitist
attitude).

Alan,
Just thought that you would like to know that I have managed to get the CAT
Control sorted out between Shacklog and my rig.
It has turned out to be a duff serial cable.
I was either sent a null modem cable by mistake when I ordered it with the
serial port pci card or the internal wiring was incorrect.
I have replaced the cable with a new one and all is working well.

Alan,
I am going to have to admit defeat on the cat control with my rig.
I have just managed to find out from the production code in menu 9.8 that the
rig is only 6 years old with a firmware revision number 3.

Andrew,
Have you ever had SHACKLOG talking to the FT1000MP MkV?
I seem to remember from the dim and distant past that CAT Control of the MKV
is different to that of the original FT1000MP. If that is the case then
SHACKLOG doesn't support the MKV.

Andrew,
I regret that , like you, I am basically 'plug and play' and have little
knowledge of Com Ports, IRQs and Adresses other than knowing that you must get
them right! You only need to worrry about Baud Rate, Data and Stop bits if
setting up TNC/Packet Parameters.
I'm sorry I cannot be of more help and feel sure if you can get the Com Port,
IRQ and Address correct all should be OK. Perhaps someone else out there can
help.
If Bad Cat shows on the top right of the SL screen key strokes Ctrl/C should
restore Ft1000 without having to go back to the Comms Screen.
73 Bruce G0PCF
Bruce,
I have just spent the last 30 minutes doing as you suggested in your kind reply.
The serial card I have just put into my PC is a plug and play device so the
IRQ's and addresses are assigned when the computer boots up.
What I have done is a follows.
1/ Set the rig to FT1000.
2/ put in the comport number com 4. Shacklog came back with the prompt that it
had found the address 2E8 this was put into the address section.
3/ Checking my Shacklog manual I set the Port IRQ to 3 in the setup screen.
As I don't have a VHF rig with cat control I left that bit at no cat. I set the
baud rate to the baud rate of the card and did the same with the stop bits etc.
Testing to see if I would get any joy with cat control I logged my callsign and
got the error message bad cat any key. I have even tried it with ft1000m and
FT1000x.
Shacklog is currently set with no cat until I can get it sorted out. This most
frustrating.
I think that the main problem is that I am not a computer whizz so need it to be
plug and play like my computer.
The computer operating system is Window's XP Professional with service pack 3.

Andrew,
I presume you configured Radio CAT in Comms in Shacklog:
Radio CAT HF FT1000
Radio Port HF COM4
HF Port IRQ 4 Address 3F8 (IRQ and Address may be
different on your computer)
Please excuse if this seems obvious but sometimes it is so easy to overlook the
basics!!
73 Bruce G0PCF
Hi Andrew,
I have an FT-1000MP Mk-V Field and I have no problem with CAT control and
Shacklog.
As my computer does not have a serial port the rig is connected to the computer
(Com 4)
with a USB Serial Cable with its drivers installed on the computer.
Bruce G0PCF
Alan,
No.
This is the first time I have attempted to set up the cat control on the rig.
The only piece of equipment I have talking to the rig at the moment is my
Microham CW keyer and and on the software side SD.
