Useful stuff from Iain, GM0UHC
Interesting that SHACKLOG has run without problems from MS operating system
updates for nearly 20 years, from DOS through to Windows 7.

Hi Alan,
For what it's worth I have just set up Shacklog on a PC running Windows 7
RC. This was prompted when my old Dell began crashing. Anyway, I am happy to
report that Shacklog is running nicely. I am still using VE7CC's superb
cluster access software AR-User (or is it CC-User? hi!). I am also running
the latest version of HW-Virtual Serial Port (v3.0.37) to create a virtual
COM4 on 127.0.0.1
CC-User broadcasts the spots to this internal address while Shacklogs
listens to the virtual COM4.
Everything is working perfectly. I haven't tried comms in the other
direction since I prefer to 'spot' via CC-User.
Curious . . . I cannot post messages via this group although I have been
receiving them. When I log in, I am reccognised. I think this is a Yahoo
thing 'cos the same thing occurred on the GMBEACON group too, after I
unsubscribed from the UK-Microwave group (I was put off by their elitist
attitude).
Best 73,
Ian, GM0UHC
