Kissing while dancing was probably the only sex permitted in old Eire!

The third figure of the Melleray Lancers has a kiss in it.

Please can someone give me the name(s) of the set dance(s) that have a
kissing figure in it. I have done at least one such set recently. The
recipient of said kiss tends to be the opposite women rather than the
partner!! Thanks - Chris B.

Maybe it was assembled for a performance. Impressive dancing, especially the
sheer stamina.
Many elements look like traditional ceili moves, e.g. half of a double quarter
chain, sidestepping as in the Morris Reel, and something similar to the arches
figure in the 16-Hand Reel.
Well done, dancers!

How wonderful. Such beautiful patterns in the dancing!
It seems to contain elements of styles found in all sorts of dances from Co.
Clare up to Co. Sligo via Connemara, Co Mayo and Co. Leitrim. Do we know who

I thought that I had come across almost all dances in my time but this is
completely new to me. I hope that someone can tell us more about it.

Just used the new listing for real for the first time. It is very well
thought out, and a massive step forward in usefulness. Congratulations.
