If you haven't heard, Jim and Emily had a car accident about a week
ago. They were on their way to Mount Pleasant to catch the train to
San Francisco and Emily was driving. She ran off the road and back on
again. I'm not sure if she actually hit something or not but
apparently the air bags deployed and Jim was jostled around quit a bit.
He sustained a cracked vertebra in his back but Emily had only minor
bruises. He was in the hospital for a while and is now staying with her
in C.R. He is going to the doctor in Iowa City to see what will need to
be done. Maybe nothing - it could heal on its own. But there is a
chance of paralysis if not handled correctly. Needless to say he won't
be dancing for a while.
