Description

Welcome, this group is a place of discussion, and where members of the Sergeantry from across AnTir can gather to get to know one another and share our customs, ideals and traditions, as well as those we serve.

Please feel free to share any information you would care to, either via email or in the files, links or photos sections.

The Sergeantry is a uniquely An Tirian tradition. It was begun when An Tir was a principality and a long, long way from the Crown. Candidates for sergentry were tested in all the skills of knighthood: arts, sciences, warfare, courtly manners, dancing, heraldry and games. When the Crown did come to An Tir, we could assure him that these find gentles were worthy of consideration.

They are in generally direct fealty to the Baroness of the branch that they tested for. Although some Baronies have them in featly to both the Baron and Baroness, and others have select categories (eg: Courtier) in fealty to the Baron.

Though originally created to recognize and encourage heavy fighting, Baronesses have expanded their sargentry to include other martial and non-martials skills.

Sargeants specialize in the heavy weapon fighting.
Gallants specialize in rapier skills
Yeomen specialize in war/missile/archery skills
Courtiers specialize in courtly/arts&science skills
Lancers specialize in equestrian skills

After having taken a vote this list is now for members of all branches of sergentry (present and emeritus) as well as the coronets they serve. We are currently looking into creating a second list open to all interest in the sergentry.
