Dear All,
Under the team name Black Angels of Ottawa, Baku and Jean have entered the Ottawa Half-Marathon to raise money for a local and global cause. At the local level, they would like to help the Ottawa Harvest House to rehabilitate young men who are chemically dependent. At the global level, they would like to help children of two small villages of Madagascar get a better education.
To achieve this, they will be running at the Ottawa Half-Marathon event on May 28th, 2006 starting at 10:15 am.
With your help, they hope basically to raise as much money that they can.
Baku and Jean have chipped in for the first $150.00 and commit to a fair run of the 21K event.
Your name will be printed on the t-shirts Baku and Jean will be wearing that day.
Baku and Jean believe the impact our common venture will have on so many lives will be priceless:
- For the entire school year which will start in October 2006, this project can secure school supplies for all children at school age in these two small villages of Madagascar. There are more than 150 children at school age for both villages. Baku and Jean hope to achieve this goal with your precious help.
As a donor, your name will be entered in a draw for a grand prize: a beautiful hand made 100% cotton embroidered white table cloth from Madagascar. Ottawa Harvest House calendars with beautiful pictures will also be drawn. For the calendars, the name of the winners will be provided to the Ottawa Harverst House which will deliver these calendars once they become available. Further information on the Harvest House can be found at the following url address:
- This project can contribute generously to the 2007 Ottawa Harvest House calendar fundraising campaign. With the purchase of one calendar, this project can contribute to save a young life. With the purchase of several calendars, this project can contribute to save several young lives.
As you know, back in December 2004-January 2005, Baku and Jean traveled to Madagascar along with other co-travelers to deliver to the two villages in Madagascar relief, donated by you, our generous colleagues. Click on the following URL links to see the related pictures:
