Greetings:

June 16th, 2009 we'll celebrate the Earth Strong (birthday) of the Founding
Father of the Rastafarian Movement, Dr. Leonard Percival Howell at Pinnacle
Groundation Site in Sligoville, St. Catherine. A press conference will be held
that day to bring awareness to private and public sectors in Jamaica and abroad.

June 25th, 2009 at noon in the Spanish Town Magistrate's Court the case with the
St. Jago Hills Developers continues. Together, we will win as we protect the
unity and promote the harmony.

In April 2009, Jamaica National Heritage Trust drafted a declaration for
Pinnacle Site to be a National Monument, "Heritage Site."
Is this progress??? Some might say it is and some will say it is not.
I n I would like to think that it is progress.

Give thanks to the Almighty Creator, the omnipotent, supreme one, my ancestors
and all my Action Jackson brothers and Sisters who had a part to play behind and
on the scene to make this a reality.

It is amazing, when we put our gifts/talents together we'll all benefit for our
good. I pray that we can work and focus on the goals ahead with conviction,
respectability and continuity for the common good of our children  children 
children.

Dejazmach Zewde Gabre-Sellassie was born on October 14, 1927 to
Dejazmach Gabre-Sellassie Barya and Weizero (later Princess) Wolete
Israel Seyoum in the town of Geldu in the district of Mecha, Ethiopia.
His father's death when he was just three years old was a turning
point. After the marriage of his mother to Crown Prince Asfa Wossen in
May 1932, he joined his mother and travelled to Desse, the capital
city of Wollo. Although only five years old, according to the old
custom befitting his status, he was required to keep his own household
and act as a figure-head to the thirty of more men of his father's
attendants and members of his household who had accompanied him to
Desse. He recalls how he visited his mother and step-father every
Sunday.

In May 1936, he joined his mother and the Imperial family and boarded
a train on their way to exile. They arrived in Jerusalem and there, he
resumed his studies. During this time, the Ethiopian community in
Jerusalem had become large due to the war in Ethiopia. The young Zewde
was to encouter many influential statesmen and historical figures at
very close proximity. He recalls that he would regularly act as a
messenger boy, and buy the Jerusalem Post and translate to them in
Amharic. And that he would often sit and listen to hear their most
interesting accounts  of their past experiences since the days of
Menelik. This experience if seems, would instill in him a deep
appreciation for history and afford him the extraordinary opportunity
to develop his mind. This unique experience, it can be argued, became
the most defining aspect of his formative years. It is no wonder that
Dejazmach Zewde would go on to become an esteemed Scholar of history
and one of the most distinguished statesmen of his time.

He accompanied his mother to Cairo, Egypt for a brief time and after
World War II broke out in 1945 they returned to Jerusalem. At the time
of the liberation of Ethiopia in 1941, at the age of fourteen, Zewde
was given the (hereditary) title and rank of Dejazmach. He was with
his grandfather Ras Seyoum who had commanded an army against the
Italians in Soqota, Korem and Amba Alagie in Tigre region. In 1945 -
53 he attended Oxford University and obtained his undergraduate degree
from the deparment of Philosophy and Economics, and later 1963 - 71,
he received his Doctoral degree in History.

He was married to Woezerit Alem Tsehay Araya on May 7, 1961. The
timing of his wedding was overshadowed by events that had occured five
month earlier. His grandfather, Ras Seyoum Mengesha was one of the
vicims of the massacre that resulted from the abortive coup in
December 1960. The newly weds soon left for England. During the eight
years stay there, their children Ezana, Debritu and Elizabeth were
born.

Dejazmach Zewde served numerous positions within the Imperial
Government of Ethiopia beginning in 1953 until 1961 and from 1971 to
1974. At the time of the Military revolution in 1974, he was appointed
as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He left
Ethiopia on September 4, 1974 to attend the annual United Nations
General Assembly, two months later the massacre of the sixty cabinet
members of the Imperial government too place. Dejazmach Zewde made a
public condemnation of this action and went into exile in the West. He
remained in exile for the following seventeen years.

He returned to Ethiopia soon after the down-fall of the military
dictatorship in 1991. Addis Ababa became his permanent residence and
for the past eighteen years, he was engaged in research and writing.
He is the author of numerous books among them, Yohannes IV, a
political Biography.  Dejazmach Zewde frequenty accepted speaking
engagments at various venus and remained very active until the very
end. This extraordinary Ethiopian signifies the ending of an era. He
is survived by his wife, two daughters, a granddaughter, neices,
nephews and countless family members whose life he has touched most
profoundly.

practiced liberation for the salvation of our people and all human race.
Monday, November 24th 2008 at 12.35 p.m., in the Spanish Town
Magistrate's Court, St. Catherine, Jamaica,
   Sister Catherine Howell, daughter of "Gongunguru Maragh" Hon. Dr
Leonard Percival Howell took the stand and sounded the "GONG" in
defense of the entire Black Renaissance; coming forth out of the Ras
Tafari Movement. Thus commenced the defense of Pinnacle, the first Ras
Tafari, economically empowered, self sufficient slave free community
in Jamaica.
The new court date is set for Tuesday, March 3rd 2009 at 12.OOpm "High
Noon", when Attorney at Law Barry Frankson for the defense
representing Pinnacle/The Leonard Percival Howell Foundation and the
Ras Tafari Nation, squares off against Attorney at Law Tashia McDonald
for the St Jago Hills Developers who are staking claims on our sacred
ancestral estate (532 acres of land) on which the Ras Tafari sistren
and brethren have been living on *CONTINUOUSLY* from 1932 to the present.
Whatever form or shape the hearing on March 3rd, 2009 takes, we seek
to guarantee our own precious liberty and victory over oppression and
injustice for all nations .

WHY SHOULD WE RECLAIM PINNACLE?

Pinnacle is the aftermath of slavery, emancipation and the start of
our culture as a nation.  Pinnacle is where the movement was founded
and where the movement embodies the values of self-determination,
self-esteem, co-operative sufficiency, economical empowerment,
collective and united fraternal love in spirit, pride, integrity and
knowledge of self and history.  Pinnacle is the prime example of our
ancient African villages and communities which were self-reliant but
was destroyed by a civilization that was vicious, crafty, and
dishonest, corrupt, filled with hate, discrimination, serration and
bigotry.

WHY PINNACLE SHOULD BECOME A HERITAGE SITE

Pinnacle contains the most important and significant natural habitats
of biological and traditional human settlement and is now threatened
by the St. Jago Hills Developer which would afford monetary gain to a
few as they perpetuate craftiness and greed against the Nation of
Rastafari. (Who they are suing for a very small portion of land to be
a heritage site) Pinnacle has an outstanding universal value from the
point of science, Rastafarian Movement cultural and tradition.

Pinnacle is where the rapture started to divide and conquer by the
colonial system.  Pinnacle is the 1st free-slave village that was
self-sufficient, financially self sustaining, united and spiritual
empowered community in Jamaica, taught both public and private sectors
the one love philosophy. Today, violence and hatred are widespread in
many parts of the world.  In Western Europe, America and many parts of
the world you see examples of anti-Semitism even after the end of the
Jewish Holocaust, the enslavement of Africans to the west and the
Caribbean , the exploitation of Indians, Chinese, and many  people of
other nationalities have suffered and died under colonial ruling.
Even today genocide remains a reality.


Join now and support the Leonard Howell Foundation and its ongoing
court battle to reclaim Pinnacle as a Rastafarian heritage site.  Next
court date is Monday November 24th at 9am. Hearings held at Spanish
Town Magistrate's Court, St. Catherine Jamaica.

The Global consciousness of the nation of Rastafari has the same human
rights to a sacred site as other indigenous people whose heritage is
sacrosanct and who have been granted land that is linked to their
rising rituals and historical roots. It's important for the historical
  property (Pinnacle) be recognized as a UNESCO world Heritage Site
(Including a International Rastafarian Worship and Research Center,
Black Studies Library, Rasta Training Craft Center, Holistic Health
Center, and in tribute to Leonard Percival Howell a monument as a
National Hero who fought to Liberate Black People.

In the future, when the survivors and witnesses are no longer with us,
it will be people of our generation and younger who must keep the fire
of remembrance burning.  Together we must work to ensure that future
generations learn from the past history of our ancestors, so never
again will it repeat itself.

BLACK MAN'S HERITAGE OF SELF RELIANCE - PINNACLE

Pinnacle is located in Sligoville, St Catherine, Jamaica. It
consist of over 500 acres of Land.( Part of which
over look Kingston/St Andrew)
In the late 1930's Howell took over
ownership/occupancy from
previous owner Mr. Albert Chang, who he had to pay in
CASH, in
order to occupy same. Howell was financial
resourceful and independent . He didn't use money for
personal fulfillment but instead he led a humble life
in Pinnacle committed to his race .

During the late 1930's the famous `uprising' took
place in St. Thomas, Jamaica, many ex-slaves, suffered
racism, oppressions,
inadequate living conditions and hunger. Pinnacle
became the safe-haven for thousands of blacks who
desired to live and work communally in Unity. Under
Howell's leadership, Pinnacle was transformed in one
of the larger self-reliant/economically empowered
communities. Several farmers lived and worked in
Pinnacle, producing a variety of fruits, vegetables,
beans, peas, yams, banana, cassava, corn, coconut and
many other products. Ganja a culture adapted from East
Indians (River Ganges) was grown mainly for spiritual
mediation, worshiping and medicine.

The Rastafarian at Pinnacle, built a food storage for
what was called, "preparing for the tough days". Many
skilled craftsmen And women, nurses and other
professionals shared their faith and lived there under
the motto " One God, One Aim and One Destiny"

Between 1941 and 1957, Pinnacle was raided several
times. Each time the authorities would take away
cash money banked in the community that added up to
thousand of dollars under the claim that it was money
earned from selling Ganja. Howell detested the
exploitation of the Herb "Ganja" and he was reputed
for walking the streets of Kingston, St Andrew, St.
Catherine and others parishes giving money to the poor
and children. He didn't give-in to the harassment,
beatings, numerous arrests and incarcerations. He went
back to live in Pinnacle upon his release from prison.
During the last raid on Pinnacle, the police burned
to the ground homes belonging to thousands of
Rastafarians.Included in the fire were furnishings, personal items and
clothing . Having no place to live and their leader in
Jail, most Rastafarians relocated throughout Kingston,
St. Catherine, Clarendon, and St Thomas. That was the
beginning of Rastafari dispersion and relocation in
groups of churches and mansions.

In the 1970's a small flock of Rastafarian elders took
refuge in Tredegar Park, St. Catherine and continued
to support the teachings of Howell until his death in
1981. Until today, the Rastafarian of Pinnacle were
never, compensated for their loss of property, homes,
lives and humiliation suffered. It is said that Howell
had been arrested, incarcerated and was sent to
Jamaica Mental Institution over (50) fifty times.

At one meeting, Howell was noted as having said that
Mr. Neville N. Ashenheim, a prominent Lawyer of Jewish
background, argued for the Bill of Rights in terms of
protecting property rights and that property can't be
confiscated without adequate compensation.
"At Emancipation the planter were adequately
compensated for Freeing the Slaves, but, I Leonard
Howell was never compensated for Pinnacle and the
crimes committed against me and the Rastafarian
people."

During the 1980's Jamaica government sold off most of
this land at Pinnacle to foreign and private
investors.
Pinnacle is now sub-divided and being sold off by
"The St Jago Hills Development Ltd" Located
at 20 Hope Rd, Kingston Jamaica. WI. - They have got hold of
Pinnacle Estates ( First Rastafarian Free Slave
Community) St Catherine. Selling/Sub-dividing- the
land (over 500 acres) Last Nov. 2006 "The Leonard
Howell Foundation" and other personnel (collective) had
a meeting with the then Prime Minister to help restore
Pinnacle and make it a Rastafari Cultural Center. In addition -
Last June- Howell Earth-day celebration was held in
Pinnacle.

The developers (Ms. Lois Sherwood and her Brother-
directors of St Jago Hills) are now suing " The
Rastafarian - Nation - 1st Order of the Nyahbinghi
Theoracy, Leonard Howell Foundation, Ras Lion and Ras
Howie for possession of the Pinnacle Site and Land.

The Law Firm of "Nunes, Scholefield, DeLeon and Co"
are having a hearing on November 27th 2007 in The
Magistrate's Court in Spanish Town.

Some time ago while perusing among the Sellassie web pages I came
across a web site that featured historic images and photographs of the
Sellassie family and other photos of Ethiopian nobility and noted
military leaders, but I have been unable to find it again. Is there
anyone here that might know of this web site?  Thank you.

Could anyone here possibly shed some light on a debate some of us are
having in another group, over the question of whether or not either
His Majesty Haile Selassie I and/or Her Majesty Itege Menen ever had
children by anyone else?

This is a claim that seems to crop up now and again, but the sources
always seem murky and dubious, and I have not seen anything in an
official source.

I am not talking about those attention seekers who claim to be
illegitimate childran of HIM, these are easily dismissed.

I am talking about the claims that both their Majesties had begotten
children by other mortal human spouses BEFORE they married one another
at age 20.

I am taking the position that this is impossible because their
Majesties could never do such a thing and still have a Crown Church
Marriage, as well as the theological argument that these two have been
the faithful King and Queen of Creation since the beginning of time,
and thus could not possibly bestow such 'favors' on ordinary humans.

The best thing those who are arguing the other side, have come up with
so far, is this acount, addressed by a historian to Her Majesty Itege
Menen on Her 67th Birthday:

of the biography he writes of Her for the years prior to 1924 AD.

However, on page 1, he seems to claim that in 1900 AD (i.e. at the age
of nine) she "legally" married an unnamed person, and became the
mother of four children, whom he does name.

How can this be?  I have no problem believing that she was betrothed
to Ras Lul Seged as a child, so maybe were these four his previous
children that she then legally adopted?  But otherwise this claim that
at age 9 she gave birth to four children seems preposterous.  The
sources claimed in the Wikipedia article seem equally dubious.

adopted a certain Princess Romaneworq as their own and given her the
title of princess.  But no way could she have been the "biological"

Brothers and sisters,first and formost i'd like to
send my warmest of regards to each and everyone,those
that i've met physicaly and those that we've met
spiritualy through pursuing the same goals and
objectives.This is the first time i'm writting a mail
to members of Irascom though i've been very keen in
observing what has been going on..
Procrastinating is thief of time.Marcus said if we
speak or even tend to dwell on religion then in every
humanbeing there's a different religion for much as we
read the same scripts interpretations differ from
individual to individual..Having put that forth i'd
like to say it's with great sorrow that we waste much
of our time on issues that don't bring us any closer
to our goal and that is the Spiritual,Economic and
Physical upliftment of the African people and humanity
as a whole.This is the time and place we should
all,collectively,transform our noble thoughts and
ideas in to practicable actions,this is not the time
to debate on philosophical beliefs which by themselves
have been distored by our own traducers..
In our hands we have ourselves a mantle of
knowledge.First the Knowledge of the Most High God and
secondly the knowledge that only we can make our own
change,either positively or otherwise but i choose
positively and righteously while at it.
Brethrens and Sistrens,be you white or black the task
ahead of us is to share amongst us not only love but
to give hope to the hopeless,poor and downtrodden
peolples by putting forth unto them the necessary
resouces that will help them realize their full
potential.This resources include the sharing of
knowledge i.e.information,the selfless giving of one's
time,establishment of organizations and institutions
that will further this interests,the discharge of
one's given duties without complaint,if one can,the
giving of funds or donations...etc...etc..
We here in Nairobi,Kenya have taken the task at hand
and we are in the process of registering an NGO for
the sole purpose of Spiritual,Material,and Physical
uplftment of our own people,we don't have to wait on
donors to come and do things for us,we can do it and
anyone and everyone is welcomed as long as they're
willing to participate without any sort of pride or
prejudice..For now my calling to one and all is to
pick up our tools and embark onthis work that awaits
us,time is long overdue.
I give Jah thanks for giving me health,rationale and a
sane mind to write all of the above..Blessed Jah Love
to you all.

It's not like we really needed one more reason to avoid McDonald's
restaurant like the plague, anyway...

But last week, I made the mistake of stopping in there for a happy
meal for my 5 year old daughter.  Everywhere, they are promoting
these witch dolls for kids her age group to play with.

These witch dolls are not ugly Halloween witches with green skin,
brooms and crooked hats, what my daughter thinks of as a "witch". 
They are carefully produced and calculated to look appealing,
glamourous and attractive to a five year old, but with "in your face"
expressions of smirking defiance, even a little butch looking.  They
carry occult symbols on their shields; one of them even has an upside
down, pinkish-red triangle.  Now, we cannot turn on the TV without
seeing this "new" religion that Ronald McDonalds is preaching to our
five year olds.

Any people who believe in the True God and follow His Word in the
Bible should not set foot anywhere near a McDonalds.  Especially
since we are clearly getting into the Tribulation.  I am calling for
a FULL BOYCOTT of McDonalds food indefinitely until they renounce
this perversion.  They do not deserve one penny of support from
anyone who believes in the True God and follows His Word in the
Bible.  If I really need a fast food, I will go to Burger King or
Taco Bell.  Please e-mail this now to as many God fearing people as

It's not like we really needed one more reason to avoid McDonald's
restaurant like the plague, anyway...

But last week, I made the mistake of stopping in there for a happy
meal for my 5 year old daughter.  Everywhere, they are promoting
these witch dolls for kids her age group to play with.

These witch dolls are not ugly Halloween witches with green skin,
brooms and crooked hats, what my daughter thinks of as a "witch".
They are carefully produced and calculated to look appealing,
glamourous and attractive to a five year old, but with "in your face"
expressions of smirking defiance, even a little butch looking.  They
carry occult symbols on their shields; one of them even has an upside
down, pinkish-red triangle.  Now, we cannot turn on the TV without
seeing this "new" religion that Ronald McDonalds is preaching to our
five year olds.

Any people who believe in the True God and follow His Word in the
Bible should not set foot anywhere near a McDonalds.  Especially
since we are clearly getting into the Tribulation.  I am calling for
a FULL BOYCOTT of McDonalds food indefinitely until they renounce
this perversion.  They do not deserve one penny of support from
anyone who believes in the True God and follows His Word in the
Bible.  If I really need a fast food, I will go to Burger King or
Taco Bell.  Please e-mail this now to as many God fearing people as
you possibly can.  Let's make McDonalds board of corporate
supervisors elite know that it just does not pay to be deliberately
