80 deg. yesterday and down to 43 deg. this morning.   We are up and down like a
yo yo.  Got all my decorations down and put away yesterday.  House is back to
normal except my Christmas drape in the dinning room.   That I like to leave up
until after New Year.  Earline, how bad was your snow storm, news reports that
your area got hit hard.

Chilly, snow flurries. We've got more snow now than we got all winter last year.
I'm surprised that there are no snowmobiles around.

Hubby's back to work, it's all light duty right now. I shoveled the sidewalk
yesterday for the first time in years.

No New Years resolutions for me, just staying home New Year's Eve, trying to
stay awake until midnight.

Chilly here, mid-20's, a bit breezy.

I got Christmas all packed up, just have to put it back in the closet today. I'm
doing some spring cleaning, kitchen cupboards and shelves for today. I want to
swap some of my display items and rearrange stuff. I'm using an Interstate
Battery stand from the shop for my cookbooks and also my antique cast iron
bake-ware, I finally got around to cleaning it up and seasoning it last week. I
bought it a few years ago at an auction.

I have to get in touch with the local museum and see if they want my antique
cradle. They have a quilt display, maybe they can use it to display some crib
quilts. It takes up too much space.

61 deg. this morning with rain in the forecast for today and tomorrow.   I have
enough inside jobs to do, so that is ok for now.   When the weather clears, I
can do the outside work.
Earline, I don't have any animals, and Geo. and I do not wear shoes in the
house, so that cuts down on a lot of work, wear and tear.  When we lived in
Hawaii, we found out from the locals, it is unsanitary to wear shoes in the
house (Japanese custom) and we got into the habit of doing the same.  We put the
laminated flooring at the entrance way about ten years ago, for some reason, now
that eludes me, because the tile would have been better.  We got water in under
the door and did some damage to the laminate.  Since then, we put in the new
doors and solved that problem and now I want to get rid of the laminate and the
entry way is large enough that I think slate would be the ideal solution, or
tile that resembles slate.   Originally it was carpeted, but we found that
people coming in with wet feet was ruining the carpeting, so this way, I don't
have to worry what people track in on their feet, plus slate or slate tile would
blend in with the color I have in the kitchen and going to put in the dining
room.   I have to get more boxes to store my china and start packing up.

62 deg. this morning with some sprinkles.  Clearing and sunny the rest of the
day.
I wear slippers in the winter, the floors are far too cold for bare feet, but in
the summer that same coolness is comforting to hot feet.
I did some wallpaper repair yesterday.    When I had the man come out to
re-grout my shower in the master bath, he messed up the wallpaper and
fortunately I has extra left over that I had saved.  A little patching here and
there and it looks like new again.   Thank goodness it was only small areas.
(Just the area above the shower tile to the ceiling.) In a few spots all I had
to do was re-glue the edges. Then I did the same in the Hall bath.   In
cleaning, I has used some kind of cleaner on the back splash that left a stain
on the paper.  I removed all that was necessary and have the new piece ready to
go back up, but waiting to do that this afternoon after I finish my ironing.
Did a little research on my Sullivan's again yesterday.   I had some conflicting
information that I am trying to sort out.   Found there are a lot of Sullivans
named Michael in New London County.   I always thought mine was called Mickey
Owen, but having received an obituary on Mickey Owen Sullivan, they are not the
same person.  Two years difference in their age and wife and children all
different.  what a mess.   I know the wife of my Michael was named Mary, because
she was the sister of my Daniel Sullivan.
